For the past 10-12 years, American media companies have failed to extend the runway for successful Latino journalism efforts. Now, @axios has given up. Axios Latino was a success. It was required reading for anyone who followed U.S. Latino communities. To see it end before it reached its 4th year sucks.

Voters: If you think your ballot was impacted, you've got two options. - Request a new mailed ballot before end-of-day tomorrow. - Check BeBallotReady.Vote to see if your ballot was received by election officials. It usually updates within 72 hours. If not, vote in person.

NEW: Some mail-in ballots were damaged after someone started a fire in a central Phoenix postal box early this morning. Many details, including motive, are unclear. This story is developing. From @JRGzzTX and I: azcentral.com/story/news/loc…

For almost 4 yrs I've managed a texting service that unhoused ppl, service providers, journalists, and even some city workers subscribe to. I've mostly sent out sanitation schedules that the city refuses to make public. Recently I sent me 1,000th "broadcast" and hit 185 subs.

Are you a bilingual journalist based in Arizona? Come work with @LaVozaz! What started this year as a very short experiment has turned into a long-term project and I'm looking for a reporter who can help keep that going. DMs are open or email me at joanna.jacobo@gannett.com

🧵: I write about Phoenix's formal Plans because they are public declarations of what leaders want to be held accountable to. Home affordability is a crisis here, yet, city leaders committed to the status quo. I think that's newsworthy, so I asked them why. 1/6⬇️
Taylor Seely 🌵@taylorseely95

PHX leaders set a goal in 2020 to create or save 50K houses by 2030 to improve home affordability, or about 5K a year. But data show the city was already building that (& more). Still, it led to progress. So, will the next be more strategic? Read from me: azcentral.com/story/news/loc…
