Absolutely fantastic idea by Wigan Athletic for their upcoming home game against Bradford on March 14th. Every single season ticket holder will be able to bring a friend along to the game, completely free. 😲 What a brilliant way to get bums on seats, fair play! 👏

@bwfc_elliot Big Sam's tenure as manager is once in a lifetime. Before that, the last time we finished in the top half on the first division was 1960. Someone born in 1960 is 66 y/o, and it is extremely likely that Big Sams tenure will be by far the most successful period in their lifetime.

@jodbwfc We can have managers that stay for more than 8 years and win cup competitions. It's possible. A legendary manager is a once or twice in a lifetime thing

Over on facebook theyre discussing naming one of the stands at the ground after Big Sam, and unlike most of the stuff on there its actually a good idea. Now that there is no chance he will return as an opposition manager, i don't see why not. A proper club legend #bwfc

@bwfc_elliot @BWFCMason Your acting like you support a big 6 club, 6th-8th finishes, cup finals and european nights are the pinnacle of what fans supporting clubs of our size can expect in the modern game. If we ever reached that point again the manager responsible would rightly be named legend

@BWFCMason @jodbwfc That's very vague and open to interpretation. I argue for a more rigid cut-off point to describe a manager as legendary, which is definitely higher than four 6th-8th finishes, a lost cup final and some class European nights

@bwfc_elliot Hard disagree, in the modern game thats unrealistic. Yeah Sams achievements and length of tenure do not compare with those of a bygone time, but if we are to hold every manager to that standard we will literally never have a legendary manager again, ever

@jodbwfc Bolton have 2 legendary managers in our history. He's not one of them To call someone a legendary manager they have to have done an awful lot. Probably need to have won something, definitely need to have stayed for more than 8 years

@BGS1877 I think they should be the only two for now, but id go McGinlay if you had to do another for his continued commitment to the club. Jussi, Davies, Nolan maybe but it would be hard to pick among them, and ultimately i think the inclusion of Big Sam gives that era its representation

@jodbwfc Don’t see why every stand shouldn’t be named after a legend, Big sam and Nat 2 obvious ones wonder who the other 2 would be named after

@bwfc_elliot Silly comment. If Big Sam isnt a legendary manager at Bolton then theres just no point having nice things, what he did for this club is the absolute peak of what can be achieved considering the natural limitations. No other manager in our lifetimes will match it.

@jodbwfc I think you need to be a legendary manager to have a stand named after you. He's in the tier below legendary

@nikicaga I like to imagine that Westerosi years are longer than years in real life, to in effect age everyone up 2-3 years while also making sense when a characters age is mentioned in the text.

@reptracker @RockyRoadBall He has a good chance to be but certainly not guaranteed. Sam Dalby is just hitting form for us, scored 15 in the SPFL last year. Kenny will likely have to dislodge Dalby first. Not saying he won't, but not guaranteed he will especially if what celtic fans are saying is correct

Johnny Kenny has signed for Bolton Wanderers on loan until the end of the season!🇮🇪 The Ireland international makes the move to League One in search of becoming the main number nine at an EFL club that has chased his signature for quite some time. A good move for Kenny to get back playing regularly, feeling the love from both teammates and fans, and reminding everyone exactly what he brings as a centre-forward.
