What I'm told on WNBA development players: Stipend of $750 a week, pro-rated minimum for each game they play (so just over $6,000) up to max of 12 games. Each team can have max of 24 games total from dev players. Players get standard benefits and can travel with team. #WNBA 1/2

To move player from standard to dev, must be waived first. But can be upgraded from dev to standard without waivers. If other team wants to offer standard contract to your dev player, you have Right of First Refusal and must upgrade within 24hrs or release player. #WNBA 2/2
