Das hat man seit Clinton so clever gemacht und die folgenden Präsidenten sind ja alle so arm geblieben oder geworden. Mal sehen wie es ausgeht. Wenn es zum Zusammenbruch des Regimes kommt, war es ein Erfolg. Das wird auch China massiv betreffen. Sollte es nicht dazu kommen, war es ein Disaster und zeigt auch die Fehler früherer Präsidenten. Das wird man natürlich dann nicht mehr erwähnen.

Chokepoints, die USA am besten nutzen konnten, waren in letzten Jahren nicht geografisch, sondern ökonomisch. Gegen diese Herausforderung durch China ist Hormus eine Nebensächlichkeit. USA haben Prioritäten falsch, weil ihr Präsident ein selbstbereichernder Narr ist.

Merz' ungeschickte Kritik an Trump schlug hohe Wellen, weil sie von 80% der US-Bürger geteilt wird. Trump spielt nicht mehr das PR-Spiel wie früher, auch wenn es so erscheint. Er gräbt sich nur jeden Tag tiefer ein. Fortlaufende Selbstbereicherung soll ein wenig kaschiert werden.

That is the real signal. Energy shock. Inflation pressure. Policy trap. Gold is not just reacting to fear. It is pricing systemic stress.

Das weiss ich sehr wohl. Mein Punkt ist ein komplett anderer. Der Zeit Horizont von 60 Tagen ist im Prinzip willkürlich gewählt. Es ist ein grundsätzliches Problem in den USA, dass jeder Präsident im Prinzip beliebig einen „Krieg“ anfangen und führen kann. Ja, jeder begründete das anders und sprach nie von Krieg. Vor 1973 war das noch schlimmer. Das nur auf Trump zu beschränken in der Argumentation ist nicht treffend. Auch Obama und andere Präsidenten haben diese Regelung umgedeutet. Das war schon damals nicht durch das Gesetz bzw. wie es eigentlich aufgesetzt war, gedeckt.

Dass 60-Tage-Frist Trump nicht interessieren würde und Kongress seine Entmachtung weiterhin pflegt, war abzusehen. Wie offensichtlich der US-Präsident dabei lügt und sich selbst widerspricht, dokumentiert seine ganze Verachtung für legitimierende Prozesse.
