Long before the interstate system, Florida was home to one of the first great auto trails in America: The Dixie Highway. Completed around 1917, the red-brick road near Bunnell and Espanola was part of a pioneering network that stretched more than 5,000 miles from Chicago to Miami. For decades, it carried families, farmers, and entrepreneurs south, linking communities and fueling growth. Today, this 10-mile section in Flagler County, known as the Old Brick Road, is recognized on the National Register of Historic Places and still invites visitors to “travel back in time.” @America250FL @MyFDOT_CFL

DID YOU SEE IT? 🎈 A World View Stratollite high-altitude balloon is currently passing over South Florida today at 52,000 feet up. The balloon uses advanced steering technology to navigate different layers, allowing it to loiter over specific locations for days or even weeks. This makes it valuable for applications like Earth observation, remote sensing, communications, and national security. The company is also developing a human-rated version for near-space tourism, offering passengers a gradual ascent to the edge of space with panoramic views of Earth’s curvature—without the intense forces or rocket launch required for spaceflight.

The Russian Mir Space Station, now abandoned, breaks up over the Pacific Ocean near Fiji after 15 years in orbit. No piece hits the Taco Bell target. Taco Bell offers a consolation prize of (2) tacos for 99 cents. The high price frustrates the public.

Our second Blue Moon MK1 is moving through the production line at Lunar Plant 1 in Florida. The aft module and LOX/LH2 tanks are in assembly, with the aft module recently transitioning from a test fixture to a low-test stand for processing. Each lander is a step toward Lunar Permanence.

It was a personal honor to join @Caltrain today and unveil a new train bearing my name—a reflection of our joint efforts to electrify this corridor, cut emissions and connect communities across the Bay Area. Our progress will serve San Francisco families for generations to come.

A fantastic view of the underside of "Buran" after the orbital flight. The underside of the orbiters was covered in silica tiles, but the gaps between the elevons were lined with ablative material. After the maiden flight, samples of the ablator were removed for inspection.

Following launch, one of the Progress spacecraft’s antennas used for automatic docking did not deploy as planned. All other systems are operating as designed, and Progress will continue toward its planned docking at 9:34 a.m. EDT on Tuesday, March 22. Troubleshooting will continue and if the antenna cannot be deployed, Roscosmos cosmonaut Sergey Kud-Sverchkov will manually pilot the spacecraft through a backup system for rendezvous and docking at the space station.
