@hjluks I wondered this about my stepmother; she's lived in a bungalow for years and now struggles with stairs. I can't help but wonder whether stairs would be a problem if she'd continued living in the house she was in before.

Don't Let Your Lives "Narrow"!! I've been an orthopedic surgeon for 30 years. The thing I watch happen to people, more than any injury or surgery, is refer to as the narrowing. Most of my patients have no idea it's happening to them. They think it's just aging. It's not. 🧵

How come when you fall over as a child you can get up and carry on as if nothing's happened, but when you fall as an adult you fall like a ton of bricks, burst into tears with shock and ache the next day as if you've been in a fight?!

I don't have any friends any more, but quite like sitting in a pub on my own, reading a book. But if there are other lonely men doing the same thing it makes me uncomfortable, like there's pressure for us to pal up and sit together or something.

@dogsmellsgood I've always been able to do this in both ears but since developing Tinnitus in my left ear in 2021 I can't do it in that ear any more. I'd love to know why as the ENT told me it was caused by hearing loss, even though I have really good hearing still (aside from this ringing!).

@accountingetc I've just done this with Flucloxacillin, but also had Amoxicillin 3 times a day to factor in as well. It was a right pain timing it all around work/meetings/meals/bedtime.

Taking antibiotics 4 times a day, no food for two hours before and no food for an hour after is actually quite tricky.

For people who are permanently alone these bank holidays can be excruciating. Wandering around places in the rain so you don't feel so isolated. Family and friends all busy doing family things. Hate it.

My local McDonald's is always spotless. I'm currently watching staff clean the insides and outsides of the light fittings! I've been to some that are awful but they really look after this one.

@aloyxwrites I would never have thought I could cope with a book that didn't have punctuation but 'Blindness' by José Saramago is excellent. You don't notice after a while and just get lost in the book itself.
