I know nothing about Charlie Munger's UCSB plan, but it appears that he *already* funded a dorm with this design at U Michigan. The building seems to be rated 8.8/10 by residents, and that appears to be the highest rating of any campus apartments.

@pankisseskafka Interesting mashup of Panopticon and Ikea store (where you have to go through the maze to get to the exit). With no windows why don't they just dig a deep hole and put this thing underground and improve the view for the non-inmates.
@oakjer Real but I’m not a fan of soulless diss. It’s usually leveled at cities with lots of transient pop., + qual, and suburban hell scapes, fair diss. It’s more that people never bothered making the man made as attractive as the natural landscape. Is the man made the soul of a place?
As a life-long on-and-off Californian, I really hate what has become of the image of California (pretty, soulless, cutthroat), but it’s a good deal more accurate than the surfer dude aesthetic that was so dominant in the early 2000s.
I’m looking for a new bowl, personal consumption and ceramic but bigger than a soup bowl. Like I don’t want to have to go back for the second bowl of cereal big. Any suggestions?
