Now this is what I call a speech. Charlie Angus 🇨🇦 Absolutely nails it. I am now convinced this is about much more that tariffs. I’m beginning to believe that the oligarchs WANT to set fire to the global economy. They are actively seeking a global economic ‘End of days’ They literally want to deregulate the global economy. Forget WW3, this is going to be Darwinism on steroids. People around the world are going to die for no other reason but to satisfy the ego of a man who takes pleasure from the suffering of people who to him haven’t earned the right to live. 🎥 TikTok - @canadianresisters2.0

Ronald Reagan: “Admittedly, there's a risk in any course we follow other than this, but every lesson of history tells us that the greater risk lies in appeasement…their policy of accommodation is appeasement, and it gives no choice between peace and war, only between fight or surrender”

He’s good in many ways, but Sir Alex Younger is also very good at explaining the fundamentals of the strategic situation at this point in time.

Francois Rochon: "Investing in the stock market is not about betting on the vicissitudes of the political world.... Investing is about owning businesses & nothing else. Strong companies do well because they create unique products & services.... Political trends pass but good companies endure.... The vast majority of companies that are doing well do so not because of politicians but in spite of them."

...today's investor is so concerned with anticipating the future that he is already paying handsomely for it in advance. Thus what he has projected with so much study and care may actually happen and still not bring him any profit. --Benjamin Graham

You don't have to be special to be successful. Ordinary people can do extraordinary things by choosing to be what most people are unwilling to be: consistent, hardworking, patient, and determined. Simple, but not easy.

The short-term crowd is always too distracted to notice the long-term crowd slowly compounding. An investor obsessing over daily economic data misses the big picture. A teenager chasing fleeting popularity neglects to develop genuine interests and skills. A co-worker stops paying attention to the details to chase attention. All chase false stimuli at the cost of lasting value. Never try to win the moment at the expense of the decade.

There are two times to admit mistakes: early and late. Early admissions solve problems. Late admissions create them. A person who proactively tells another they made a mistake gains trust and respect for their honesty. In contrast, one who tries to hide mistakes quickly loses trust. Swift admissions build bridges. Slow ones burn them.
