@TheJoeMarino @KyleCrabbs Take: the next evolution in football will be long snappers that can play a role in short yardage/full back to increase roster flexibility.

@KyleCrabbs @AtoZSportsNFL What offensive tackle prospects have potential guard upside if teams need them to kick inside?

Planning on doing a 2026 NFL Draft mailbag for @AtoZSportsNFL and would love to hear your questions about this year's class if you've got 'em.

@KyleCrabbs @AtoZSportsNFL What does the depth of the pass rush group look like for different roles (ie speed ends vs power guys who can kick inside). Similar question for corners in press man vs off zone.

@CarpetDinosaur Incorrect. The Lions, Packers, Bears, Vikings, Cowboys, Commanders, Giants, Eagles, Bucs, Panthers, Falcons, Ravens, Steelers, Bengals, Jaguars, Texans, and Colts have no shot at stopping those guys.

@KyleCrabbs This was one of the things that had me the most cold on Weaver at the start of the season, because I remember Gay being impactful during those limited opportunities. Excited to see him back with hopefully improved utilization.

@TheJoeMarino What type of impact does this have on the cap space and all of the free agents the Raiders have already agreed to? I know they had a lot of space but... this much space?

@ArmandoSalguero Are we out here comparing Fitzpatrick signing at 36 year years old to Malik Willis signing at 26? The reason this is different is because if Malik does "win you too many games", which is a ridiculous idea, then maybe he is as good as the guy we get early.

Wait…seeing people who should know better defending the Malik-Willis-to-the-Dolphins-is-an-awesome-idea-hill. I like him as a player, but did everyone forget the Ryan Fitzpatrick experience? Good enough to keep the Dolphins from being bad but not great enough to make them good.

@PFF_RyanSmith Considering the GM now comes from an organization that has had Hall of Fame QBs and still drafted new QBs in the first round when the hit felt right, I am hoping there isn't any hesitancy to draft more.

Not a fan of this move when considering the #Dolphins current roster, cap situation & path to a successful rebuild Worst-case scenario MIA gets "stuck" again with a guy who shows some potential & they are hesitant/unable to get in position to draft a future QB1 Hope I'm wrong!
Barry Jackson@flasportsbuzz

Dolphins find their quarterback of the present and future with Malik Willis.. Three year, 67 M deal has 45 M guaranteed, as Ian reported... As we've noted, Jon Eric Sullivan thought very highly of Willis after watching him for 2 years in Green Bay. Now we know how highly.

@KyleCrabbs There was mention of doing the Ravens game at some point as well. Assuming that got put on hold when the talk of the money went crazy. Now that we have the agreement, would love to see that film break down.

@KyleCrabbs The joys and pitfalls of the combine. Excitement to see a prospect I like test well, then realize it probably moves them up the draft board out of the range I liked picking them in.

@TheJoeMarino @KyleCrabbs Take: teams should be comfortable giving Malik Willis $30m AAV if it is structured correctly. 3 years for $90m but paid out 15/25/50 with rolling guarantees allows for the number to be big, but the contract to not be an albatross if he fizzles out in his first true starting role

@DanteCollinelli I don't tend to believe it either, but it could also depend on how that is structured. If it is a 3 year deal with 10m year 1, 20m year 2, 50m year three with low amounts guaranteed, then maybe?

I get the supply and demand of it all, and I legitimately believe in Willis’ upside. But man, $30M+ is a lot for a player with 6 starts and 155 pass attempts.
Jordan Schultz@Schultz_Report

#Packers free agent QB Malik Willis is in demand, as expected, and interested teams I’ve spoken to at the Combine in Indianapolis believe him getting at least $30M per year is a foregone conclusion.

@KyleCrabbs @ckparrot How much does this differ this season and next potentially, since the guys currently in the building weren't in the right building? I can see a bit more action on known players to the staff to build the room right for the foundation

@ckparrot Just did this content over the past few days — GB has handed out 6 contracts higher than $2.5M AAV to external free agents in the last 6 offseasons combined. Miami’s list is 6x as long over the same time period. Culture shock incoming!

It occurs to me that when Jon-Eric Sullivan starts talking about the draft and the dangers of building thru free agency, everyone cheers wildly. And then promptly disregards it all because they are incurable addicted to free agents.

@OmarKelly I think there are a small handful of scenarios, such as one of the CBs is gone and a team wants the other. But in general this is correct. Everyone wants to trade down, no one thinks about who is going up

There isn’t a single draft prospect available in 2026 that the so called experts are saying is a “can’t miss.” Nobody is looking to trade up folks. Stop living in delusion

@DanteCollinelli I am kind of hoping that they treat Ewers + Miller + bring in a guy = the competition and use picks this year to shore up all the other holes. And if that guy is Willis, and if he shows out, all the better. (ofc I have watched roughly none tape)

@the_real_reason I think something to consider is that you have to spend money next year somewhere. If Willis is that good, and Sullivan and Hafley would know, then paying him will be well worth it in the long run.

This isn’t a roster ready to add a potential long term starter in Malik Willis, especially if he’s asking for $20-$30 Million a year like Pelissero reported. This is a roster ready for their GM to trade back from #11 with some team who wants to jump the Rams for Ty Simpson as they continue to stockpile picks for the potentially loaded 2027 QB Class. #PhinsUp

@KyleCrabbs How much do we read into the players who weren't cut? Jackson, Sanders, Ingold, Fitzpatrick. Wonder if it is more likely they stick around, maybe with Jackson and Minkah they may still have some amount of trade value.

@SleeperMiami Tua's contract is guaranteed and has more complicated implications on the cap (especially not cutting him saving $0 on the cap) while the others give the Dolphins cap flexibility in the race to become cap compliant ahead of the league year.

@TheDrewWelch Have you considered how much his contract was for this season if he was traded? I find it hard to believe any team would want Chubb on the kind of number he was owed with that contract, especially knowing he would likely be cut.
