The research behind this is wild. Your kitchen sponge has the same density of bacteria as human stool. German scientists found 54 billion bacterial cells per cubic centimeter inside used sponges in 2017. Yours is sitting right next to your sink. Sponges are the perfect home for bacteria. They are wet, warm, full of food bits, and never fully dry between washes. Across all 14 sponges, the team found 362 different types of bacteria. The most common species include strains that can make people sick. In 2011, the public health group NSF International swabbed 30 things in 22 American homes. The dirtiest object in the entire house was the kitchen sponge. It was dirtier than the toilet seat. 75% of the sponges tested positive for the kind of bacteria that includes Salmonella and E. coli. Microwaving does not clean the sponge. The 2017 study found microwaved sponges had higher amounts of the smelliest, most harmful bacteria. Heat kills the weak strains. The strong ones survive and refill the sponge with no competition for space. A 2021 Norwegian study compared kitchen sponges to dish brushes. In brushes, Salmonella was wiped out within three days because the bristles dry out between uses. In sponges, bacteria climbed to about a billion cells per sponge. The lead researcher told CNN that one kitchen sponge can hold more bacteria than there are people on Earth. Three things actually work. Switch to a dish brush, because brushes dry fully between uses while sponges stay wet for hours. Replace your sponge every one to two weeks. Never leave it sitting wet in the sink. Norway and Denmark already do this by default, but most other countries don't. The detergent is fine. Your sponge is the problem.

@DaddyTwinzz If she uses a moniepoint POS for the transaction, sometimes if it's a pending transaction, it wouldn't reflect on the history immediately, so you can print receipts or verify. Like I said earlier if her approach was professional, it wouldn't have resulted in chaos

@DaddyTwinzz You are scared to lose your 30k, the operator is also scared. If the network from her POS was bad as at the time of transaction and transaction becomes ‘pending’ it is one of two things. 1. It reverses back to the merchant 2. It drops at the destination. 🔄Patience becomes key.

I gave a POS operator ₦30,000 to transfer into my account. She said her charge is ₦300. I said no problem. She counted the money and started pressing her phone. After some seconds she said, “network dey delay, but don’t worry, e don go.” I checked my account balance. Nothing. She told me to relax that it will reflect. 10 minutes passed.Nothing. 30 minutes.Still nothing. Meanwhile she was still doing transactions for other people. Collecting money, sending successfully. That was when I started getting angry. I told her to check her transaction history. She said her network was bad. I said, “but you’re still transferring for other people.” She no answer again. After more than one hour, I told her to return my money first until the transfer reflects. She refused. Said the money had already gone from her account. I asked her to show me proof. She still couldn’t show anything. Na there my head hot. I grabbed her handbag immediately and told her I am taking my ₦30k right there and then. Guy, na so crowd gather o. One person said I was right. Another said I was overreacting. The POS lady started shouting “thief!” I too started shouting “scammer!”

@DaddyTwinzz My thoughts: She is not necessarily a thief or trying to scam you, she just has a bad attitude and customer relations. Situations like this happen all the time. What she should do, was give you an assurance, collect your details and num. No need to panic if she is stationary.

@sheisafairyyy I wonder why companies request cover letters when they know I am just going to lie "I deeply align with the company vision", a vision I am just discovering. "It's been my long life dream", a dream I just discovered 10 mins ago. Please don't let me go to hell!!!

Two Sundays ago in my church, two families came forward for child dedication. The first family looked wealthy; everything from their outfits to the gifts spoke of it. As they stepped out, many people stood up and danced with them to the front. Then the second family was called. No glamour. No attention. The wife wore a simple ankara, and the husband quietly held an envelope to present. Before they even reached the front, only three people were behind them. No crowd. No excitement. I tapped my friend and said, “Let’s go.” We stood up and joined them, dancing them to the front. After the service, the husband came to find us. You could feel how deeply he appreciated that small gesture. And it left me thinking… There’s hardly space anywhere for a poor man. No money. No social love. Sometimes, not even family love. Just… silence.
