@Hot_Pepper76 @bestsongiheard Blues Image. Class A one hit wonder.

"Ride Captain Ride" (1970) tells of a crew inviting others to sail to a new land and be free, but no one answers the call. They leave without them and are never seen again.
This was the band's only major hit.
Do you remember the band, or just the song?

@notgaetti Bill James had him number one and I tend to agree. He was the top 2B in the NL 8 straight years in the 70s. He’s definitely at least top 2 along with Hornsby.
English

I think Morgan > Sandberg is a mainstream take
Morgan was an OBP machine before it was cool, had tremendous power for his size, stole 689 (!!!) bases, was a great defender, and won 2 MVPs and 2 World Series.
Forget being ahead of Sandberg; Morgan is perhaps top-2 of all time!!

victor arena@victoraren57
@notgaetti there is no way morgan is ahead of sandberg
English

@uscfan981 If anything, the Chicken Man is underrated.
My choice would be Nolan Ryan. He’s a deserving HOFer but so many call him the greatest pitcher of all time and he’s not in the top 10.
English

@GenTXer2 The writer of Cleveland Rocks, later the theme of the Drew Carey Show!
English

@Hot_Pepper76 Orleans! Also hit the top 20 with Dance With Me and Love Takes Time.
English

"Still the One" (1976) was a rare love song for its time, about lasting love instead of heartbreak.
It became the group's biggest hit.
Did this one hold up for you over the years? Will you listen or skit it?
Name the band. x.com/calmalgodown/s…

@Hot_Pepper76 Boz Scaggs. That album, Silk Degrees, is a perfect pop/r&b album.

@notgaetti My three guys:
Jesse Barfield
Ellis Valentine
Ichiro
English

This is a Jesse Barfield or Aaron Judge situation

Game 7 of the World Series. Bottom of the 9th, 2 Outs. Your team is up by 1. Vince Coleman is on 2nd and Tony Gwynn lines a single into RF You have your choice of any RF, of any era, to try and nab Coleman at Home. Who makes the throw?
English

@notgaetti @JessicaDBrand @boggs328 @wadeboggsfan @theaceofspaeder @TheWARmonger_ @yankeethrowback @BigLeagueDigest @OleTimeHardball @EdHand89 @NjTank99 Is it crazy to say a HOFer is actually underrated? But I truly believe he is - he’s a major league stud who’s one of the 5 best 3B ever.

Not enough people talk about Wade Boggs

Not Gaetti@notgaetti
You’ll never convince me that Devil Rays-era Wade Boggs wasn’t absolutely one of the most badass-looking ballplayers of all time
English

@OneOutOf4 Ace, with the terrific Paul Carrack on lead vocals!

This English band formed in 1972 and released ‘How Long’ in 1974. It reached #3 on the US and Canadian charts.
👉🏻Name the band.
👉🏻 Who was the frontman?
English

@notgaetti Career OBP:
Boggs - .415
Gwynn - .388
Facts tell the story. Not at all tough.
English

@AlTheBoss03 @braves2430 Andy Van Slyke - the underrated part of a terrific Pirates OF.
English

@TheSports_Shift Jose "Coco" Laboy. Runnerup for ROY in the Expos inagural season and his 1970 card is one of my favorites ever.

English

@notgaetti I’d agree; but when you look at the production of the lineup and consider the attention on them was being dwarfed by the HR exploits of McGwire/Sosa/Junior - it’s like they were hiding in plain sight all year.
English

This was the greatest team ever, or certainly at least the greatest of my lifetime
Bernie Williams won the batting title
Lots of fantastic hitters, great elder statesmen in Chili Davis, Tim Raines, and Darryl Strawberry; ace pitching, solid clubhouse guys
They were inevitable
