Trying to do the right thing for our city and my budget by taking bus BUT the service is in a downward spiral. Underfunded agency means service cuts So: service quality drops (packed, slow, unreliable bc people have to watch full buses go by) … so anyone with an alternative stops taking transit I paid almost $3 for a ride that was [EDIT - 2 mins slower than walking], and 3x as long as taking an uber ($9-10) or Waymo ($18 today) Meanwhile rich ppl driving their Porsches to Equinox park FOR FREE in space that could be used for public services. I’ve benefited from this when driving - it’s an unjustified privilege and a tax on everyone else. We need a Marshall plan for SF transit, and it needs to be paid for by cutting back on parking and increasing parking fees.
