@KATUNews They are only excluded from Olympic competition if they can't outperform the other males in their chosen sports. That's why it's called "competition". Explain why this is an issue.

@KernowAngel @johnatusc @sharrond62 Presented with questions challenging their beliefs, people will either: A. Simply become offended and indignant at being challenged. B. Give the question serious thought and work out an answer.

@EmanuelsonKen @sharrond62 Yes. Women's sports are actually getting the same level of attention as men's sports. But it's irrelevant to their level of athletic performance. What's not irrelevant is physiology. Men are larger, faster, stronger, and more powerful than women. By design.

@johnatusc @sharrond62 Are you sure? We know for a fact that women's sports don't get the same level of attention as men's sports. With more attention, funding, training, supplements and incentives, is it not likely that their athletic performance would improve?

My favorite part about the Pac 12 falling apart is how USC, Oregon, UCLA, and Washington baseball thought by joining the Big 10 one of them would magically become the best baseball program on the West Coast. #gobeavs

@EmanuelsonKen @sharrond62 The female athletes might earn as much money as the male athletes. The male athletes will be still be larger, stronger, faster, more powerful, etc. than the female athletes. Physiology isn't influenced by funding and encouragement. Period.

@sharrond62 Allow me to explain: Male sports are much better funded than female sports, and male athletes are more strongly rewarded for athletic success. If female sports were encouraged and funded at the same level as male sports, who knows what might happen? 🤷🏼‍♂️

Democrats should have a simple, stock answer on the trans athlete issue: "Leave it to schools and sports leagues to figure out what's fair and stop playing politics."
Peter Hamby@PeterHamby

New for @PuckNews A Democratic think tank isn’t sure their party has figured out how to talk about trans issues Their polling suggests a way forward on trans rights — but Dems might have to concede defeat on the youth sports fight puck.news/texas-senate-r… @PuckNews

@fuckyouiquit @thomasglencove Until you factor in the increased benefits for those paying increased taxes. Or do you think SS is just simply a tax in spite of how it has worked since it was launched? Math is hard. Implementing policy is even harder.

@thomasglencove And the total amount of money earned over $185k is so big that eliminating the cap fully funds social security for the next 50 years. Thats how big numbers work.

Every dollar earned below $184,500 a year has a Social Security tax of 12.4%. Everything after that cap is exempt. If we lift this cap on the wealthiest earners, Social Security would be fully funded till 2070. The cap should not exist.

The trust funds for Social Security and Medicaid will run out of money in as little as 8 years, a shorter time frame than previously estimated, according to a report issued Wednesday by the programs' trustees. abcnews.link/r5kTy1r

Trump and Republicans knew what would happen if they let health care premiums skyrocket: Americans wouldn’t be able to afford it and families would lose their insurance. Now it’s happening, and they still have no solution. We must keep fighting to bring down the cost of health care.

MURRAY: Is it true that people making under $184k pay a 12.4% Social Security tax rate? DAHL: Yes. MURRAY: And the rate for someone making $1 million? DAHL: 2.2%. MURRAY: So, a 12.4% tax for people making less than $184k, but 2.2% for a millionaire or .0002% for billionaires.

Andy Biggs hasn't done a single thing for Arizona water - but now that he's running for governor he wants to "Make Water Great Again” by building the “Donald J. Trump Imperial Dam.” Ridiculous. We need actual leaders who have been working on this issue like @GovernorHobbs.
Rep Andy Biggs@RepAndyBiggsAZ

With the Colorado River under strain, and time running out, America needs a visionary, a builder and a deal maker. Thankfully, we have all three of those in President @realDonaldTrump. Follow up statement from California Speaker Robert Rivas: “I commend President Kim for making the right call. At the core of our democracy is the principle that voters deserve maximum access to the candidates seeking their support. It’s the responsibility of institutions like USC to uphold that principle, and I'm glad they recognized this before more harm was done. I'm grateful to my Legislative colleagues for uniting on this issue. Whatever our political differences, our commitment to open and accessible elections is something we all share.”
