Total respect to @johngapper one of sharpest minds in journalism but isn’t it interesting Tim Davie says, even now, the BBC top job is not impossible. Why? It is because Beeb’s vicious, commercial enemies WANT job to be split, because doing so splits the corporation, puts charter at risk and threatens public service broadcasting. Be careful what we wish for. Babies. Bathwater.
