Enter unfamiliar territory → learn the language fast → build systems → produce results → move to the next frontier. Some leaders are just built for this.

Reading Joel 2 again. It’s clear that the army described are actual locusts. V 25, “I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten—     the great locust and the young locust,     the other locusts and the locust swarm— my great army that I sent among you.” The locusts of Joel’s army are not supernaturally equipped human evangelists moving in signs and wonders. How does one exegete this from the passage and propagate it as doctrine…for decades?

If the New Apostolic Reformation had a Constitution Paul Cain would be considered a founding father. In the 80s and 90s the Vineyard came under the influence of Mike Bickle and the Kansas City Prophets. Bill Johnson who was pastoring a little Assemblies of God Church in Weaverville, CA attended a Vineyard Conference in 1987 that according to him changed his life. Part of what captivated Bill Johnson and Kris Vallotton and inspired them to build a "Revival Culture" in their Church based on the idea that God is Restoring Apostles and Prophets to the body of Christ in the last of the last days leading to the return of Christ are the teachings and Eschatological visions of men like Paul Cain. In his clip from a 1990 Vineyard Conference in the UK Paul begins "Let's forget all the horror stories that you know about Latter Rain and let's let it rip tonight! Let's let God move tonight if He has any rain we want it! Amen?" It's important to understand that John Wimber and the Vineyard built their platform appealing to modern Evangelicals who were biblically literate and primarily interested in, wait for it...Evangelism, Church Planting, and Church Growth. There's no doubt in my mind that the Vineyard and Calvary Chapel movements that came out of the Jesus Movement in the late 60s and 70s experienced an undeniable move of the Holy Spirit that was genuine, powerful, and life changing for believers who were touched by it. It was revival, restoration, and reform. There's also no doubt in my heart and soul that some of it went completely off the rails. 😘 Godspeed Bethel Alumni 🙏❤️

The US-Israel strikes today targeted Iran's nuclear sites, missiles, and leadership (Khamenei reportedly killed per Israeli sources; Iran denies). Retaliation with missiles on Israel/Gulf bases is underway, Strait of Hormuz closed, ~200+ Iranian deaths reported. Over 24 months: Short-term escalation likely—proxy attacks (Houthis, etc.), oil volatility, airspace chaos. Medium: Iranian internal power struggle or protests amid damage; regime may survive battered but could fracture. Long-term: Weakened nuclear threat if facilities stay down, possible realignment favoring Israel-Arab ties, or prolonged low-level war with Russia/China aid to remnants. Best case: Stabilized region post-regime pressure. Worst: Broader conflict. All fluid—data shows high uncertainty without ground ops.

@Protestia He just says publicly what many mega church pastors operate under quietly. That’s why Ed just lets him go on. Speak for the cowards who believe what you are saying but won’t say it themselves.

SA megachurch pastor At Boshoff, who oversees 90 multisites and 120,000 members, demonstrates monstrously paranoid, narcissistic and controlling behavior, including firing a man who opened a meeting by saying "we are here for Jesus, we are not here to serve a man" because Boshoff believes he is to be served. Notably, despite Boshoff saying he'd get rid of anyone who speaks negatively against his wife, he actually divorced her a few years later, in secret, and never told the church about it until it was exposed more than a year later.

In an interview, where Ben Armstrong explains his infidelity, he and host Jason Vallotton used the word #MESS 27 times to refer to adultery or Clergy SA. I have noticed over the past few weeks that that is how #BethelChurch refers to even severe abuse. "I asked Shawn to clean up his mess." "He won't clean up his mess." I believe this is an intentional way of making light of infidelity and sexual abuse. Spilling milk creates a mess; CSA is not a mess—in many states, it is criminal. Let's count! "And so this week we're going to really dive into like how to own your story, how to clean up a mess 1, how to rebuild trust after messing up 2." "And I really want to dive into helping men build a strong marriage after messing up. 3" "And I would say as well, this would be beneficial to any guy. um, not just after you've messed up 4, but preventative maintenance like." "I made a huge mess 5 in our marriage." "Not just uh deep conversations but a physical relationship as well. Having an affair on my wife over a two weekend kind of period of time and just huge mess. 6" "The question is, do we have somebody who wants to rep take ownership and clean up a mess 7?" "Because as leaders, if we can't help somebody clean up a mess 8, then what the heck am I doing as a pastor, right?" "That's really what pastoring is is like teaching, leading, helping people clean up messes 9." "And so, we didn't demote you because you made a mess 10." "I'm a mess 11." "So, we'll talk about what it looked like for you to clean up that mess 12 in a little bit." "And we talk a lot in our culture about cleaning up a mess 13." (YES, YOU DO!!!) "What did it look like for you to take ownership and to start cleaning up that mess 14?" (Certainly making any time of restitution to the victim!) "And so part of owning my mess 15 wasn't just with [my wife] and the kids." "I never want to make a mess 16 like you made cuz I I don't want to tell people that kind of stuff." "And the first tempting thing to do really is to defend yourself and to justify it, but you really can't start to clean up a mess 17 until you own the mess 18. Yeah. And the whole mess 19." "You had to take I think I think in messes 20 like this Yeah. I think you don't fully realize the damage you've created." "So there's a big mess 212 to clean up. But trust isn't built by the absence of mistakes. It's built by how we clean up a mess 22." "I'd own the mess 23. This is what I did." "Hey, this is what I'm doing to clean up my mess 24." "Not just that people who've made big messes 25 that have to deal with big emotion, you know, their wives' big emotions or whatever." "And then in order to really heal, you have to own your whole mess 26 like Ben talked about. So owning your whole mess 27 isn't just admitting that you did something wrong." End

This is why preachers should check their egos at the door. Pastor Donny Karpinen gets irked when his congregants don't respond to a "deep point" he's making in the way he wants them to, chastising for their lack of energy and verbal response.

I have trouble believing that Bill Johnson has trouble confronting someone. In 2015 he publicly confronted Jason Westerfield and told his people to avoid him because of false teaching. Jason is still coming into Redding and teaching crazy things about consciousness and aliens. tickettailor.com/events/asitisi…

There's much to appreciate in Bethel's statements today. Much. It's incredibly rare to see such openness and accountability from leaders on stage and I was very impressed by it. There are also some significant concerns that should be noted. I'm going to take several days to process all this and give a response this Friday during a live stream. Praying for wisdom, hoping for the best, prioritizing the normal folks, and remembering the gnarly path that brought us here along with what a good way forward would look like.

If we wanna get down to the real root issue, then all of these movements have one thing in common, that is that they have their origins in the prophecies of Bob Jones and Paul Cain, both of which were caught up in scandals, coverups and false prophecies. This is the one thread that binds them all together, and it needs to be addressed. If we wanna go one step deeper, then we should include William Branham.
