@tomfgoodwin I guess judgement is just another form of measurement. It’s just done with your brain and experience rather than excel sheets

I can't help but shake the feeling that in most industries, when they had less data, they may have done a better job. Maybe judgement was better than measurement

This is one for all those over 35 - But, is this just it now? I’ve had 8 hours sleep, didn’t drink, ate green stuff, ate meat stuff, did 10,000 steps (and lifted weights) and I still feel like shit in the morning.

@Frazer_LD @CarrieRosePR This is a big one. Start really slow, so slow it feels like you are barely running. It’s really hard to keep that slow but it helps everything get used to it. The Nike running app has some great guided runs which basically should at you to slow down for 20 minutes…

@CarrieRosePR Slow down. Start with walk/run/walk/run but don't worry about pace. Too many beginners try to go too quick, get out of breath, stop, then get despondent and give up. Also enjoy it! I'm certainly not the fastest but it's great for mental health and getting away from it all!

Having to take the latest Luke Combs album a couple of songs at a time. Brilliant album but a hell of tear jerker for those with boys/were boys. Christ I swear I wasn’t this much of a wimp before kids…

I've spent all my time doing tasks that give me the most dopamine and now I've just got a huge to-do list of boring tasks.

@danbarker Fair point, its one and the same really. The digital native fallacy is an interesting one as I think they are finding that the younger generations are less tech savvy than before. So actually you are probably right, digital skills training would make sense!

@johnlukejack yes, I think they are just expected, whereas teaching them would mean things actually happen. the sort of 'digital native' fallacy. agree re media training, which I think basically falls within digital skills.

Keir Starmer is talking about skills that kids need to be taught: creativity, confidence, resilience. I am interested that there is no mention of digital skills, as that is really the way the world continues to move.

@TomScott1 Don’t disagree and I think there are things that can be done to fix the key issues. You are right that someone else will develop it. Wouldn’t surprise me if it ended up being houses which would add a tonne more traffic!

@TomScott1 Probably. I live 2 minutes walk from the site and a lot of people are worried about it. The bulk of the issue is around traffic & parking. I can’t see traffic being a major issue (traffic is already bad…) and a resi parking scheme should solve the other.

Usually you can find some way to justify why something is loosely relevant to a brand, but with these kind of stories it’s almost impossible. These kind of things take the PR out of digital pr. Can’t blame them if it works, it works. But I only ever see these type of articles on ReachPLC publications. Imo it devalues any links/coverage from these publications. If a link becomes easy to get, then it’s not worth as much anymore.

@gfiorelli1 @Marie_Haynes Absolutely right and always good to think about. I think they had to go this route because of how the site worked. They couldn’t rank particularly well because it was built as a JS hell hole. Regardless, it worked!

I see many mocking up the influence of offline marketing on Search. So… let me remind you how Trivago was able to influence search - along other actions - thanks to these TV ads: youtu.be/52I-DGg7M3o?si… 🧵
