That is the mentality of a man who thinks the British public are a captive audience, not a sovereign electorate. If he really believed his “change Labour” agenda was popular beyond activist bubbles and client groups, he’d be demanding a fresh mandate, not explicitly ruling one out via his spokesman. A Prime Minister installed by internal Labour manoeuvres, clinging on for three years while he experiments on the economy, is not change – it’s entitlement with a northern accent.

Reform putting out an attack ad on Kemi Badenoch misquoting her over Henry Nowak’s tragic death is a deeply misguided, ugly and offensive move. A young British man was murdered. He died cuffed and begging for his life, alone in the street. To weaponise his death, so vindictively, in order to make a viciously deceitful graphic attacking a political opponent is low. I am not in the same party as Kemi Badenoch. In fact, we are competing for votes in Makerfield. I disagree with her on a great many number of policies. I would never manipulate the death of an innocent young man to score petty party political points, especially using such blatant lies. It’s just not how we conduct ourselves in Britain. Principles still matter, or at least they should.

Reform UK’s Candidate for #Makerfield Robert Kenyon (@Makerfield_RFK) deleted his old account - we assume because he reposted a lot of far-right stuff. Like Carl Benjamin, Peter Sweden and Wayne O’Rouke who was imprisoned after inciting violence during the Southport Riots. Kenyon himself posted an 11 post thread trying to defend Reform UK when a member of his campaign team was found to have caused criminal damage in the riots.
