@david_parker Bad goaltending does not get you the the finals twice.
NHL refs will never allow a Canadian team to win against a market they want to grow.
It’s easy to rig. Miss one penalty here, call a penalty there.
Minor instead of a major. Let a team get away with injuring people.
English

@TylerMGoo @ThomasHewitt22 1. CMNT players want easy direct flights from Europe for home games.
2. They prefer grass to turf.
English

@ThomasHewitt22 I understand the weather issues elsewhere, but this team HAS to start playing more often in different markets. We have a beautiful stadium here in Regina and would sell out to watch them, not to mention Winnipeg, etc.
English

@brent_bellamy How do you suggest de-concentrating the economy? Hey Bay Street, how about moving to Winnipeg?
English

@ExWrapGod @HarkNowHear1 @Nusc2023 I think the scalper issue unfortunately is A) as a result of the North Americanization of the business side of EPL clubs which was inevitable from a financial standpoint B) is at least partly fuelled by overseas fans who want tickets.
English

@ExWrapGod @HarkNowHear1 @Nusc2023 Premier league clubs have international appeal. They’ve marketed themselves all over the world and have fan bases everywhere now which brings in $. They all want to come to England and pay $$ to see a game. Who is the real fan? The local or the lifelong fan from overseas? Both?
English

@AdamKoffler @realMrMallard I live in Canada. We and Australia and NZ are a cautionary tale for the U.S. housing market. We had no 2008 crash and our government keeps artificially inflating the market (pulling levers to make sure home owners never lose equity) We are the U.S. market on steroids.
English

@realMrMallard So something else has to give in order for housing to become in *somewhat* affordable again, and that’s a crash

@herculezg I’m genuinely curious to what David’s done to be called the best 9 in CONCACAF
English

The best 9 in CONCACAF with another one. Jonathan David is HIM.
Can’t wait to see where he ends up this summer. #CANMNT

Some people might find they love this lifestyle enough to make it permanent.
Fairly typical day today:
- worked from 8-2
- ate lunch
- rode my mtn bike from 2:45-5:15
There are trade offs to this life, though. I’ve come to terms with the fact that I’ll never build an empire - I’m okay with that.

Christian Ruf@pinpulleddrmf
A business I wish someone would create: Weeklong excursions for business leaders. Imagine: - 10 entrepreneurs - 1 week - Epic location (e.g., Telluride) in a luxury house - Mornings for remote work, afternoons for fly fishing, hiking, biking, etc. A mix of networking, exciting activities, and partial work flexibility, saving full disconnects for family vacations.

When men claim women don’t want to be approached IRL, the problem always relates to table stakes:
1. Are you nicely groomed?
2. Are you sharply dressed?
3. Are you in decent shape?
4. Are you respectful and confident?
If yes to all four, women will enjoy meeting you — if that doesn't guarantee romantic connection.
If no to any of the four, fix that before you approach women IRL 🙃

@samanthacp_ @Derek_Walleck It results in acquittals sometimes though. What are defence counsel supposed to say in this situation? “No questions for the witness, we must accept everything she says, always”. Like it or not, they have a job to do.
English

@Derek_Walleck it is objectively insane that the best defence people can come up with is completely detached from the lived realities of half of the population and which are rooted in misogyny and rape myths.
English

@realmatt_re I live in Canada, we have 0% capital gains on the sale of a primary residence. Our house prices are worse than the U.S. It would not help lower prices.
English

This is the case for everyone I know.
I've said it before:
The housing affordability crisis can be solved overnight.
Capital Gains holiday for 6 months on residential real estate. That's all it takes.
Houses would flood the market. Prices would plummet. Young people could buy.
Daniel Morgan@dtmorgan18
If capital gains tax went to zero, I’d sell every piece of real estate I own.
English

@torontomaplefc2 He’s got 10 players in front of him (judging from the 2nd half Ive tuned in for) that just don’t care or don’t have enough talent to do anything to threaten another terrible MLS team at home while losing.
English

@johnny199r I don’t expect clean sheets but SJ lets in too many soft goals
English

Sean Johnson is so bad man
Like we aren’t a good team, I think we all know that but having him in net gives us 0 chance to win
We literally have a guy who’s at worst, the same level as SJ but he’s younger, cheaper, homegrown and Canadian but we don’t play him 🤦♂️

I’m going to be brutally honest here, guys.
As a man - it’s your job to plan and pay for dates. Offering to pick her up and/or pay for her transportation is good manners. Buying her flowers or a [small, thoughtful, inexpensive] gift is considerate.
If a woman asks you to pay for ANYTHING else within the first few dates, she’s using you.
She doesn’t like you. It’s classless. And she’s just seeing how much she can get from you.
This is not normal behavior & this isn’t something anyone does to someone they’re actually interested in.
As things progress, absolutely you can pay for more of her lifestyle and it’s important to make sure you’re compatible in terms of who is financially responsible for what within a real relationship.
But if you’re paying for her hair, nails, childcare, or anything else before date 5 - she’s using you.
What was she doing for that money before she met you? 🤔
And PS if you genuinely *want to* pay for more because you really like her and it makes you happy, stick to thoughtful gifts that are unique to her in the beginning. eg Shoes she mentioned she loves. Her favorite kind of flower. A family of baby raccoons idk
Sending her money, adding her as a user on your credit card or paying her bills too soon makes you look desperate, not gentlemanly.

English

@skylarromines It’s not about 100% extremes is it? She can pick sometimes, too. I mean, what you’re describing seems like the 1980s where a man would order for the woman at the restaurant. One could say that’s a “masculine role”, others would describe that as “outrageous”
English

@johnny199r It’s the masculine role. If you want to be with a super masculine woman who wants to control everything, you can. I wouldn’t personally recommend it
English

@investing_law I see you’ve never practiced criminal law. Some prosecutors and defence lawyers are borderline unreadable by email. How do I know? I’m a defence lawyer.
English

@alexpotato This is such good advice. This has been my exact problem. Thanks!
