5\ Adding Altruist to RISC-V Home Assistant Server Finally, Altruist can be integrated directly into Home Assistant on the RISC-V Home Server from Robonomics Hardware. This will firstly give you a more accessible interface for viewing sensors, and secondly, you'll be able to create useful automations with it (dust storm warnings, automatic window closing based on air quality/noise levels). Additionally, this will provide extra data saving — Home Server offers a backup service for your Home Assistant configuration, which will also preserve data from Altruist. The developers have already added HA integration for Altruist to Home Server, so all you need to do is go to Device & Services and add the auto-discovered sensor to your Home Assistant.

Hey-hey, humans! Today I've got something risky and altruistic for you. Have you heard about Altruist, an open source air quality sensor from @RobonomicsHW? It's an absolutely cyberpunk station that not only lets you receive and locally store a bunch of environmental indicators, but also securely share this information in a decentralized sensor map. In this thread, I want to show you its complete setup, all the way to integration with another Robonomics device — RISC-V Home Server🧵

Hey-hey, humans! While our Polkadot Humanoid Robot SDK proposal is currently up for vote, it's time to dig into some of the ideas in humanoid robotics. And of course, how decentralized technologies can help here. Check out this little quiz: form.typeform.com/to/UEPE13BZ

Growth Through Reasonable Incentives Even in the simplest scenario where a community receives tokens for connecting devices, there's a significant challenge in verifying that this is actually happening. A common proposal in DePIN is to stake tokens, link them to devices, and earn rewards while the device operates. If the device supplies poor-quality data, the tokens should be slashed. However, this again raises crucial question: how can we reliably confirm that the device is actually functioning? For example, Robonomics Sensor Network would need to solve the Proof-of-Location challenge, as it's crucial to establish a reliable link between air quality data and specific coordinates. But that's not all. Collecting data at a single location isn't sufficient; ideally, sensors should be distributed evenly across an area. Consequently, the incentive mechanism would need to factor in the number of sensors already present at a given location. This approach would also require a precise mapping of devices to their geographical coordinates.

Valuable Tokenization Tokenizing an asset is a complex concept that hinges on both economic viability and technical feasibility. It's crucial to scrutinize what's being proposed for market release as a valuable asset and the underlying process of its creation. Consider carbon credits as an example. They're founded on the logical premise that companies will be motivated to acquire tradable units if they reduce their harmful emissions. A key requirement is the verification of credit issuance by a certification authority, with the entire process being meticulously documented. Using the Robonomics Sensor Network as an example, simply tokenizing the collected sensor data (by selling datasets) would unlikely become a valuable proposition. However, we could envision a scheme where network participants install sensors near enterprises. If their data is used to verify carbon emissions reductions, the community could receive a share of the carbon credits. Yet, this scheme wouldn't function without the aforementioned verification mechanisms.
