Clubs should be vetting new members more than they are. High level clubs do a better job than mids. Becomes an issue when clubs just start taking anyone with a pulse and a check. It’s destroying culture and the very basis that’s allowed a club to survive multiple decades. Prospective members unfortunately need education to better understand club expectations and what makes a club a “club”. Particularly those clubs that have been around for a century or more or have an investment level initiation. There should be a strict process by the club that at minimum educates new members on: - Base knowledge of club history - Clearly defining the culture and “vibe” expected at the club. - Black and white rules and repercussions for violating culture and rules (Attire, phone policy, hats, etc) - A 10 year or more restriction on new members participating in club decisions. - Documented guidelines/rules provided to all guests and host members. - Understanding long term capital plans built around the club’s culture. - Expectation of course care (i.e..always fixing 2 ball marks, sand/divot repair, bunkers raking, range use, etc). - Understanding basic golf IQ…it’s a thing and few people have it. Looking forward to the pretentious, stuffy, and elitist comments. That clubs need to evolve with the times. That response validates exactly why clubs need this process.

How good did young Matt Fitzpatrick swing it! 😯 Obviously he’s made some changes that better suit him now, but he swung the club so good “aesthetically” when he was young @MattFitz94

Wetherby is slowly becoming a fan of New Jersey and it bothers him. Some of the pockets in the middle of the state are a hidden gem.

@johnnyginkle_76 @MaxHomasexual This video is absolutely geeks. Him and his boys cracking up after 🤣🤣🤣. The shot had another 10-15 yards of roll. Everyone got a laugh and the shot ended better. Best of both worlds.

CONSEQUENCE

Julian Casablancas named the "privilege of Zionists living in the United States" as one of his "most controversial takes" during an appearance on SubwayTakes with Kareem Rahma. "Well it's been nice having a career: American Zionists get the benefits of white privileged people, but talk like they are Black people during slavery... "Just for the people that are going to be like, 'Hamas, October 7th.' Um, yes, bad. But Native American rebellions didn't mean it was okay to do what we did. Slave rebellions that were violent didn't mean that slavery is not bad. So, that's the scope of that answer. Just for the haters. "Indoctrination is such a strong thing. We just want to be part of the tribe... So I get it, but it is a sad fact the brainwashing of just people in general. You can't be mad just because something was rammed down their throat, necessarily." consequence.net/2026/04/julian…

@BowTied_Golfer Very true. Would love to see the best of the best do more for their caddies by enhancing the shack and creating a member - adjacent atmosphere for them. Could be cool

I understand the sentiment here, but I’ll take the other side. Clubs work hard to cultivate a specific atmosphere. It’s why people line up to pay a premium to join. Allowing employees (or contractors) to engage in member activities dilutes the experience. Also- why is that specific caddie entitled to lunch but the others aren’t? Best to draw the lines in ink. The club is in the right here.

I won't out the course but here is aspect of Country Clubs that I think needs to change. I had a player playing in the US Amateur. We hired the clubs best caddie to help us navigate the course in practice rounds. Guy was great. With our USGA credentials on first day at the club we asked him after the round if he would like to join us for lunch. He couldn't, he wasn't allowed in the clubhouse and we were able to go in and out freely. I hate this about higher end golf. Good caddies are assets and should be treated as such. Please retweet this if you agree.
