@Franklin_Graham @realDonaldTrump You don't believe what you wrote here. If you do, youre only deluding yourself. What culture would give abortion SO much importance and yet would be perfectly fine with blowing up entire civilizations and people? How can you be calling the most horrible narcissist "pro-life"?

I had received some questions about President @realDonaldTrump's recent posts, and here are my thoughts: I do not believe President Trump would knowingly depict himself as Jesus Christ—that would certainly be inappropriate. I’m thankful the President has made it very clear that this was not at all what he thought the AI-generated image was representing—he thought it was a doctor helping someone, and when he learned of the concerns, he immediately removed the post. When I looked at the illustration, I didn’t jump to the same conclusion as some. There were no spiritual references—no halo, there were no crosses, no angels. It was a flag, soldiers, a nurse, fighter planes, eagles, the Statue of Liberty, and I think this is a lot to do about nothing. There is so much ill-intended speculation. I think his enemies are always foaming at the mouth at any possible opportunity to make him look bad. And the illustration from someone else he reposted on Truth Social yesterday, I must say that I like the fact that this is a picture of Jesus whispering in his ear, or at least His hand on his shoulder, guiding him. We all need that—we all need to be listening to Jesus. Again, I think there is an attempt to spin this into something that it isn’t. Remember, President Trump didn’t draw this, he didn’t create it, he reposted it on his social media because he thought it was nice—I would have to agree. I’m not a Catholic, I’m an evangelical, but I appreciate how President Trump has defended religious freedom for people of all faiths, including millions of evangelicals and Catholics in the U.S. and around the world. He is the most pro-Christian, pro-life president in my lifetime, and he doesn’t shy away from it. I would hope that the President and Pope Leo can meet at some point, and that the Pope would have the opportunity to thank the President for his efforts to protect religious liberty for Catholics and people of all faiths.

God’s heart is torn apart by wars, violence, injustice and lies. But our Father’s heart is not with the wicked, the arrogant, or the proud. God’s heart is with the little ones and the humble, and with them He builds up His Kingdom of love and peace day by day. Wherever there is love and service, God is there. #ApostolicJourney #Algeria

If you are a Catholic this should offend you. President Trump attacking the Catholic Church is completely unwarranted and extremely distasteful. He should be well aware that Catholics account for at least half of the MAGA base. Catholics, like myself, got him elected and many staff his administration. Messaging like this is only going to hurt GOP turnout in the midterms.

@brady_penfield People who are MAGA and Catholic need to chose one god over another. Frankly, I cannot see how anyone Catholic can profess to be MAGA. It means they've profoundly misunderstood the message of the Gospel at its root. Catholicism isn't just a club, you know?

This is gross blasphemy. Faith is not a prop. You don’t need to portray yourself as a savior when your record should speak for itself. The same God who saved Trump’s life from that bullet sent His son Jesus to die for our sins. He died for Trump just as much as for you and I.

@blue_eyes_0928 Lol. You "stand with Trump". Can't you see a toxic narcissist when you see one? Did you need to see this obvious display of ego to realise that this man is a deranged lunatic?

I have no words. I stand with Trump, I love my President, but as a Christian, I’m speechless. Maybe he doesn’t realize how deep this picture looks or would represent, but I can’t condone this. I have no words. At the end of the day, Trump is man, not Jesus. Wow.

@rlboselli @BishopBarron why be Careful? Have you heard about Jesus? He wasn't careful. He called out these bigots for what they were, "Whitewashed tombs", and flipped over the tables of moneylenders. You try to tame Jesus, but he never was meant to be tamed. Love that aspect of the Gospel, or leave it.

The statements made by President Trump on Truth Social regarding the Pope were entirely inappropriate and disrespectful. They don’t contribute at all to a constructive conversation. It is the Pope’s prerogative to articulate Catholic doctrine and the principles that govern the moral life. In regard to the concrete application of those principles, people of good will can and do disagree. I would warmly recommend that serious Catholics within the Trump administration–Secretary Rubio, Vice President Vance, Ambassador Brian Burch, and others–might meet with Vatican officials so that a real dialogue can take place. This is far preferable to the statements on social media. I am very grateful for the many ways that the Trump administration has reached out to Catholics and other people of faith. It has been a high honor to serve on the Religious Liberty Commission. No President in my lifetime has shown a greater dedication to defending our first liberty. All that said, I think the President owes the Pope an apology.

@BishopBarron Sure. Keep approving and applauding Trump in public. That way you keep sending the message that all you care about, ultimately, is power, not condemending the aggression, violence and hatred promulgated by the orange madman in the White House. He is Cruel, and you know it.

This pope is a leftist idiot just like the previous one, but I would suspect if anything that social media emphasizes on the dumbest things he says. I presume he occasionally will say something normal or intelligent, at least once in a while but that never shows up on the social media. Instead when he's advocating for the surrender of Christendom to become slaves of Islam that's when everyone sees his posts.

I used to be Reformed Protestant. Not once, in those 30 years, did I ever care about anything the Pope said. Not once did I even know about anything the Pope said. I could hardly have identified the Pope in a photograph. Now, the Pope's statements are daily dissected and criticized by many of the most influential Protestants on this app. Reformed leaders and scholars I used to follow are commenting on him daily – usually critical, sometimes not, but always with the ultimate effect of exposing more and more people to Catholic dogma. I suspect this might have something to do with why so many Reformed Protestants are becoming Catholic. I know, for a fact, that most of my peers raised in the Reformed tradition were previously oblivious to how the Pope spoke and uninformed about Catholic teaching, and are lately surprised at just how much they appreciate what he says. Yes, maybe sometimes the Pope says something "iffy," but his statements are, by and large, vastly more measured, compassionate, intelligent, and historically-literate than anything any other Christian leader is saying. And of course, the papal "pomp-and-circumstance" (like it or not) inspires people who are otherwise deprived, during church and in worship, of the sort-of liturgics and iconography that ground and enrich their lives in so many other areas (devotionally, emotionally, psychologically), and who are even forbidden from gazing upon a crucifix. It's ironic, really, but I think the "domestication" of the Pope in this way – via social media – is actually a big boon for the Catholic Church.

I feel a deep sadness. So many of us worked very hard to get Trump back in office. We believed he would put America First and no new wars would be started. What we have seen this term is the opposite of what we voted for, understand it is not MAGA that has changed, it is Trump. Trump was a vessel to achieve the goal, he has failed the mission and it is time he leave the office.
