I think the Indian fixation with Pakistan today isn’t some cold, rational doctrine. It is deeply political, shaped to appease a domestic right wing Hindutva constituency. That framing needs a perpetual adversary, not a resolution and it's playing out well for BJP.
Also, reducing everything to “Pakistan is perfidious” is intellectually lazy. What you call terrorism has long been treated as a proxy conflict on both sides. India was good at hiding it. Not anymore. Denying that reality doesn’t make it disappear..
Pakistan has to a large extent moved beyond its New Delhi obsession. India, despite being the larger power, clearly hasn’t. Just Turn on your TV and watch your films etc.
