@jojceec69 @QuipSkeptic @IamSean90 Good grief. If you take Brightline to Miami Central, you have immediate access to Miami’s (FREE!) Metro Mover that will take anywhere you want throughout downtown Miami and Brickell. Or for a fee, MetroRail which will take you all the way to the airport.

@jojceec69 @QuipSkeptic @SteveMFlorida @IamSean90 You said the bright line sucks because it is not more convenient than driving a car to and from Orlando from Ft. Lauderdale or vice versa. I’m saying it is just as convenient if not more convenient. I’m confused about what you don’t understand

@jojceec69 @QuipSkeptic @SteveMFlorida @IamSean90 Three and a half hours maybe. No chance of traffic. No chance of blowing out a tire or getting into a collision. Prices are cheaper than a tank of gas on a round trip. Stations are also easily accessible. it is absolutely just as convenient if not more convenient than driving

@Logical_LB @IamSean90 Did you just assume I'm pro California rail project because your brain is too slow to not rely on tribalism?

@QuipSkeptic @SteveMFlorida @IamSean90 No, because it's never been the more convenient option which is why I said it sucks. If it had a complimentary subway system to navigate/connect to the metro areas that would be awesome but if I have to Uber/bus to the station and back I'd rather drive my own car

@SteveMFlorida @IamSean90 to actually get to the station which kind of defeats the entire point of public transportation, not having to use a car

@SteveMFlorida @IamSean90 Problem is everyone is comparing it to a failed system in California instead of the very successful systems in East Asia. It's clean and a nice addition but it's really not fast enough for me to prefer it over driving a car. That and most of the time you're gonna have to drive

@IcyOdell @IamSean90 Do you think I'm supportive of the California rail system failure? Where did I say that?

@jojceec69 @IamSean90 You’re somehow missing the point. California spent $16 billion for, in your own words, a system that doesn’t even exist yet. $16 billion.

@jojceec69 It exists & is financed by private investors then that's on them (I know some projects in places are partially financed by tax payers) but they built Orl to Miami in 4 years for $5 billion. California spent $16 billion of tax dollars for 0 miles of track expected cost $137 bil

america is one of very few countries that has even tried to build a multiethnic democracy at scale, & the fact that it has a visible, loud, ongoing discourse about racism is actually evidence of relatively low tolerance for it compared to countries where racial hierarchy is just... ambient & unremarked upon. japan (lol very obvious now), korea, much of europe, india's caste system, han chauvinism in china, ethnic dynamics across the gulf states.. most of these societies don't even have the vocabulary for the conversation america tortures itself over daily. america is quite literally is one of the least if not the least racist countries on the planet, & it's not even close.

@MarxoidNess @TrueSlazac @michaelevknight Like yes we should do our best to rehabilitate them but there's gotta be some sort of limit to the support they're given or they will mooch and do drugs forever. As the saying goes, the giver has to set the limits because the takers never do. Get clean, get a job or go to jail

@MarxoidNess @TrueSlazac @michaelevknight mistakes and they are human, they made mistakes, their own, that they should be the ones held accountable for. Failure should result in something bad. Gov could definitely do more to help them but you could also say the same for them! I don't want my taxes to be an addict's rent

@MarxoidNess @TrueSlazac @michaelevknight Well profit in the medical industry is directly correlated to innovation so I actually don't mind that as much. Our health INSURANCE in this country is putrid dogshit on the other hand but that's not the same as healthcare

@jojceec69 @TrueSlazac @michaelevknight Btw just to add on to this, the United States government spends more money subsidizing healthcare companies than it would paying people's bills in an M4A system, too Crazy, it's almost like the US govnt mainly exists to make rich people more money x.com/i/status/20365…

@jojceec69 @TrueSlazac @michaelevknight If we lived in a country that was like every other developed economy individual costs for medical bills and most insurance would be subsidized for everyone, including the homeless. We already have food stamps for that category. Finland did the whole nine yards, it saved them 💲
