Very sad news. Najam bhai was a very kind hearted and soft spoken person. Indeed he was well versed in his work and will sorely be missed — especially in his home ground in Lahore. May God rest his soul in eternal peace & give him highest place in Jannah. Ameen

Since 2022, Pakistan's performance in Test match series has been nothing short of alarming. Across 12 bilateral series, we have managed only 2 wins, against Sri Lanka (2023) and England (2024). In contrast, we've lost 7 series and drawn 3. The losses include whitewashes by England and Australia plus a shock 2-0 defeat at home to Bangladesh in 2024. Most recently, in May 2026, Bangladesh beat us again, another 2-0. Whether at home or away, the results tell a grim story. Time for honest conversations

Not sure he has anything to make up for. Is the leading Pak Test batter over the last 3 years (including on tough home surfaces). This Bang series is literally his first ordinary series behind the stumps in forever. Other formats sure, but in Tests any criticism is misdirected.

Mohammad Rizwan today looked like a man trying to compensate for all the mistakes and criticism that had followed him in recent times. The innings carried intent, responsibility and belief. Had Salman Agha not fallen at that stage, Pakistan’s hopes might have stayed alive a little longer. Now the question is: can Rizwan turn the impossible into possible tomorrow? It feels almost unrealistic from here, but cricket has always been a game that leaves room for miracles. And if Rizwan somehow pulls this off, it could become one of the most memorable and defining comebacks of his career, a chance for him to win back the hearts of cricket fans, once again.
