In honor of Rachel McAdams’ new movie Send Help, this feels like the perfect time to recommend the most underrated Best Picture winners of the 2010, Spotlight. 129 minutes of meticulous journalism unraveling a decades-long cover-up of widespread, systemic child sexual abuse within the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston. I’ve rarely been left as speechless by a textual epilogue as I was here, the moment the film reveals the sheer number of cities and countries where similar cases occurred. I literally closed my mouth in awe. I’ve watched this film at least seven times over the years, and with every viewing, my respect for it only grows.
