I’m so glad to see the outputs of this work after 2 years. I’m very proud to be part of this @SeapMicro project! Got to thank @embb_ntu for the mentorship and guidance, and @SakchamB17 and Zin for the help along the way!

#NTUsg scientists have found potential #plasticeating bacteria and potentially harmful microorganisms in the #plastisphere. The findings offer insights that may aid in tackling threats to the #ocean #ecosystem and in arriving at a possible #plasticpollution solution. @SCELSE_SG ntu.sg/PlastisphereSt…

After a warm welcome, it still feels unreal that I am assoc prof at UiO! Yr 2004, I was the 1st in my family to graduate, proud alumni from @UFRJ. Who would say books, the right opportunities and incredible human support from friends, family and profs can change your life...😉

Taken altogether, we should carry out more plastisphere studies in important coastal habitats to understand the fate and ecological impacts of plastic debris in coastal ecosystems.
Gratitude to @embb_ntu @SakchamB17 @MeilinNeo @jenjennyfong and @SeapMicro for the support!

I’m very happy to share my first research chapter for my PhD’s outcome! In this work, we surveyed coastal habitats in the tropical waters of Singapore. While plastisphere is not polymer specific, it is highly influenced by the sediment.

How cool would it be if @RealTimBooth was really worried about the sewage pollution and wanted to sing these lyrics I penned to their epic song "Getting Away with it" @wearejames #prettyplease 🙏

Myself and @angelabeckett10 wrote a review with @Sus_MDPI! 🥳
We discuss the use of sequencing as a method for the discovery of novel plastic-degrading enzymes and how to ensure the focus stays industrially-relevant! 🧬
