From political, military, and intelligence sources: 1. Military operations extremely successful, even with tragic loss of life 2. The Iranian Navy crushed 3. US owns the skies over Tehran- “Once unthinkable” an intel source told me 4. Iran regime decapitated (1 of 2)

15 years ago this week we launched @PiersMorgan Tonight on CNN. An incredible experience working with a fantastic team, led by Piers and @jonathanwald. Launch Week will never be replicated by any other show: - Oprah - Howard Stern - Condi Rice - Ricky Gervais - George Clooney

I’d like to read a story about the person in charge of the David Muir program. What are their dreams and aspirations? How do anonymous underlings feel about them? Who are their past lovers? Just for a little variety

My father wrote this 31 years ago about the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, and his father, and every year it makes a little more sense to me. nytimes.com/1993/11/10/opi… via

If you're looking for a great election viewing experience, I recommend watching Brian Williams tonight live on Amazon. Here are three reasons why: 1. It's New (but Also Familiar) It's exceedingly rare in the world of election coverage to have a new player in the game. With Fox, CNN, and others, you know what to expect. With Amazon investing in election coverage for the first time, it will be a completely new experience. That alone is worth tuning in for. It's also 100% free to watch on Amazon Prime. 2. It's Not Bound to Ratings or Advertisers This is pretty unique. Most major networks generate tens, if not hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue during election cycles. Amazon is unbound by this. In theory, this allows them to have zero editorial spin one way or the other. It means they can serve the news straight up, without having to worry about alienating an existing viewer base - because they don't even know who their viewers are yet. 3. It's a Strong Team Brian Williams has been covering US elections for decades. Poppy Harlow is an incredible anchor in her own right. I've filed for her shows and she has always been thoughtful, caring, and has a great knack for getting to the human element in every story. Beyond her, the team producing the special event is strong. @jonathanwald and @JohnFerracane are veteran newsroom leaders who know how to make compelling television. Election night coverage is among the hardest coverage to produce. There are literally dozens of moving parts that need to be balanced and the stakes are incredibly high. The team behind the broadcast has the track record to make it happen at a high level. Overall, despite the planning that has already gone into it, the Amazon broadcast might feel very much like an experiment. And that's pretty cool. In a time where media can feel more partisan than ever, having a steady veteran hand bringing us a different kind of coverage - calm, steady, and empathic - is worth celebrating. In a different world, I'd have loved to report live for Brian from overseas during the show. But who knows, maybe Amazon will use the opportunity to invest in more news programming, which would be even more exciting.
