I agree with Senator Lee that Federalism is the proper relationship between the general government and the several states.
The constitution demands it, and a return to that model would be ideal.
However, returning to Federalism would require us to identify when we departed from constitutionally proper boundaries.
And I don’t believe Senator Lee, or anyone in American politics, is ready to have that conversation.

According to the Wall Street Journal, citing multiple U.S. officials, Iran has targeted the joint U.S.-UK base at Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean with two intermediate-range ballistic missiles (IRBM). According to the report, one missile failed in flight whilst the other was engaged by a U.S. destroyer utilizing an SM-3 interceptor, but a successful interception was not confirmed. None of the missiles hit the base. This is notable as Iranian long-range precision fires have not previously been publicly assessed as having the range to hit such a target as Diego Garcia, as the base is some 4,000 kilometers from Iran proper.

The funny thing about this is, I used to go SOO hard for Israel. It wasn’t until everyone was being called antiesmites for things that clearly wasn’t antisemitism that forced me to look into it further (if I wanted to maintain any form of intellectual honesty). On September 11th 2001, George W. Bush was scheduled to have a small group meeting with leaders of the Muslim community. Leaders later described as connected to Muslim Brotherhood linked networks. The meeting was cancelled because of the attacks. Now, I’m not suggesting anything sinister about that meeting, but what matters is that you had a group with ties to the Muslim Brotherhood that was supposed to have a meeting with the President on 9/11. That’s proximity, access, relationship.
The key here is that while most were focused on the external threat, the internal threat was here all along.
