@BigBlueBud He’s a mediocre coach who played on a championship team. He’s never coached under an elite coach. This formula has never worked. It won’t now.

We were all in after 1 season of Pope because it looked like there was a positive direction for the program. This season TOTALLY derailed that. BUT we’ll get at least one more chance to see if Pope can turn it around with a winning roster, shouldn’t be shocking if he does. #BBN

Hopefully we can find a new gear this weekend, but Pope's done a poor job, overall, handling things on the court & off the court this season. Imo.

Been sitting here reading comments about @KentuckyMBB & @CoachMarkPope while watching NCAA. Opinions are all over board. Most of you know I like Pope, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I believe in him. For me, he represents so much that I want in a coach. Still do.

@jssharlow Well...he DID. Again, you can critique the decision to take him...but EVERYONE expected him to play half the season...and he played four games. That is incredibly significant.

Kentucky has been more impacted, semi-significantly, by injuries than any Top 45 team in the country. It doesn't excuse all of the issues, but it does deserves to be mentioned in EVERY conversation when looking at the 2025-2026 season as a whole.

@BRamseyKSR @jssharlow Brandon, I know I have said a lot of negative things about Mark Pope. but, I am still a huge UK basketball fan, and always will be. Do you think Mark Pope can turn this thing around next year and right the ship?

@jssharlow I just find that to be so short-sighted. Can you critique his DECISION to sign that player...ABSOLUTELY. However, to trivialize the idea of having a lottery pick for HALF THE SEASON is just silly to me. He came back 12/20. Him playing the rest of the season would be HUGE!!!

Kam Williams practiced today according to Mark Pope. It was in a limited capacity. “It seems like he’s getting close and there’s a real chance.” Says JQ isn’t practicing, isn’t as close to getting back (as Kam is).
