@imanands @shiri_shh Desktop it's true, but on phones sadly it's more complicated. Mobile web sites are so bad these days with pop ups and terrible performance. Good mobile web apps are not what people expect or remember, so they just write you off if you don't have an app.

This is also the strongest argument for web-based distribution right now. No review queue. No 30% cut. No weeks waiting for approval. Your users get a URL, it just works. The irony: AI makes it trivially easy to generate apps, which floods gatekept platforms. But if your app runs in the browser, there's no gate to keep. The market itself becomes the filter — if it's good, people share the link. If it's slop, nobody cares. App stores were designed for a world where distribution was the hard part. Now creation is easy and discovery is hard. That's a web problem, not an app store problem.

THE APPLE APP STORE IS DROWNING IN AI SLOP people are treating the App Store like a Medium blog spitting out apps one after another. All with zero users and $0 revenue. Apple reviews that used to take hours are now stretching into WEEKS and even months > more than 550k apps were submitted just last year, highest in a decade.

@andrewmason @descript Sorry to report this isn't helping me. When I change the zoom as he does in this video, the zoom changes on the entire scene. There is no option to add keyframes within the scene this way. To what started this thread, the help is never quite right the first time 😀

getting to the nitty gritty with @descript. super powerful, but not intuitive. A problem that remains unsolved with almost all software, instructions or ai help says "choose this option" Option is not there. Instructions are wrong. I figure it out and tell AI the right way.

@descript love your app, but it's really struggling with a fairly basic use case right now. I have 3-4 clips in a sequence trying to sync the audio, browser is freezing like crazy, can't make precision adjustments with the mouse. I'm on an M4 Mac..🤷‍♂️

@azzabazazz @brian_armstrong This is a slippery slope. And trust me I'm not big on rules and regulations. There is no such thing as a place with "no rules". Someone is making the rules. That's kind of why those guys wrote the constitution, so all U.S. land has a baseline set of rules. Let's stick to that.

A few questions: 1) What current regulations in Texas, Wyoming, and Florida are hamstringing the crypto, drones, robotics, and mining projects you envision? 2) Is this born of a concern that w/out geographic legal carveouts the US is incapable of economically or militaristically competing with Chinese SEZ's like Shenzen? 3) Should eminent domain be on the table? For instance, if a rare earths motherlode was discovered beneath Westwood should UCLA be uprooted to create a mining SEZ? 4) What safeguards would you put in place to avoid these SEZ's amassing more power than one or more of the 50 states and thus tipping the balance of the world's longest running Democracy?

We need more special economic zones in the U.S. We should designate ~10 or so like this across different pieces of federal land, each with its own exemption from federal and state law. One for bio, one for drones/aviation, one for crypto, one for robotics, one for mining, etc. See what happens without so much regulation within a small sandbox. Copy what works outside.
