I never damned him to Hell. I don’t pronounce that judgment. Never have. I don’t have that power. I’ve acknowledged that. Yes, I can judge that someone is potentially portraying a false faith, when they don’t think homosexuality is a sin, and that Christians like Jaden Ivey are wrong for proclaiming biblical truth about sexual ethics. That’s bad fruit. That’s having a form of godliness, but denying its power. That’s friendship with the world, which is enmity with God. Salvation is not based off perfect doctrine, but it’s concerning when someone says they follow “God” while denying foundational aspects of Scripture. Also, this is not an apology and you know it, Jimmy. This is a “sorry you felt that way”, not an ownership of wrongs and taking proper accountability. You may have convinced yourself that you’re conversing genuinely, but that is far from the case. Your conduct has not been civil. I haven’t attacked you personally like you have throughout our interactions. You’ve performed eisegesis with Scripture while trying to rebuke me, slandered and lied about a brother, and still refuse accountability. You’re clearly projecting in your relentless mentions of me throughout Easter weekend. You may dislike Clay Travis and conservatism, but you can’t keep projecting in your rebukes of me.

Jon, I’ve read this carefully and I want to respond with the same sincerity I’ve tried to bring throughout. You say you haven’t dodged or deflected. But the one question I’ve asked consistently across this entire conversation remains unanswered. I just asked it a 4th or 5th time directly, including this very last tweet you just replied to. I had zero doubt why … you are scripturally off and there’s no right answer to what you did other than apologizing. Is it your place to declare that Kendrick Perkins did NOT give his life to God? Not his theology. Not his public statements. His soul. That’s what you said. And every fork in this road has led away from that question, not toward it. I think you haven’t answered it because Scripture doesn’t give you an answer that supports what you said. Romans 14:4. James 4:12. That’s not misusing the Bible. That’s the Bible. And Jon — I genuinely apologize for any words that crossed a line. If toxic or any other description felt like a personal attack rather than a critique of a method, I own that. That was not my intent and I should have been more careful. I’m frustrated by the one society is creating toxicity for profit and if that’s not what you are doing, I trust you wouldn’t lie. I don’t think you’re a bad person. I think you’re a gifted communicator who loves God and I’d welcome a civil conversation anytime. I mean that.

Hey @JonnyRoot_ I notice you seem to use the same bot engagement farming as other folks in your similar circle (like Clay Travis)… not sure if it’s paid bot farms to drive engagement, a product of X (@elonmusk) or just completely coincidental but @grok says it’s likely paid for 😂 … I suppose this closes my point.

I take real issue with @JonnyRoot_ someone who once worked in sports but now is looking to profit off division, using our Lord as a backdrop to do it. These tweets do not represent Jesus. Jesus ate with tax collectors, touched lepers, and welcomed the outcast. He reserved his harshest words not for sinners but for the religious who used their faith as a weapon to exclude and condemn. That is exactly what you see in Jon’s content and he’s gaining steam doing it. Using the name of Christ to mock a man for painting his nails, to declare who is and isn’t actually saved, and to stoke culture war outrage for engagement is not discipleship and does not represent the teachings of Jesu. This is performance. He clearly understand the algorithm. He knows exactly what he’s doing. That makes it harder to excuse, not easier. I’m not calling him evil. I’m asking him to sit with this question as publicly as he asks others to, honestly before God: Jon, are you making disciples or are you purposely making enemies? Jesus said they’ll know us by our love. Is this that?

@Variety A biblical response to Savannah’s message 👇🏼
Jon Root@JonnyRoot_

Savannah Guthrie & her family have gone through immense pain lately, but that pain & heartbreak pales in comparison to what our Lord & Savior dealt with… The Bible says: “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:15-16 Jesus knows and He feels what we go through. The ancient Greek word translated sympathize here literally means “to suffer along with.” We can’t allow the pain we feel, as immense as it may be, to feel as if Jesus is no longer who He says He is in His Word. Jesus dealt with pain far worse than we could ever imagine. • He was betrayed by one of his best friends, who he dedicated years of his life to. • The Jewish crowd chose a criminal to be released over him. • He was flogged an inch away from death before he had to carry a cross through the streets of Jerusalem while the crowds mocked, cursed and spit on him • Jesus was beaten and scorned on our behalf. He bore the sins of the world on the cross. And Jesus went willingly to the cross, after sweating blood in the Garden of Gethsemane because he knew the painstaking details of the events that were to follow soon after He was betrayed. I sympathize with Savanah, what she is going through is devastating, but this Jesus being presented in her Easter message is not the one of The Bible. This Jesus is absent, uncaring, and not all knowing and all powerful. Jesus knew he’d rise in 3 days, as was prophesied. Jesus explicitly predicted his resurrection multiple times in the Bible. Jesus can’t seem far away during anguish, but that is why we need to hold fast to what is true and “with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

Savannah Guthrie says she's “questioned whether Jesus really ever experienced this particular wound that I feel" in an emotional Easter Sunday message: "We celebrate today the promise of a new life that never ends in death. But standing here today, I have to tell you, there are moments in which that promise seems irretrievably far away, when life itself seems far harder than death. These moments of deep disappointment with God, the feeling of utter abandonment for most of us, there will come a time in our life when these feelings hold sway.” variety.com/2026/tv/news/s…

Just say you were wrong and apologize, Jimmy. You’ve spent all of Easter weekend slandering and name-calling, while taking ZERO accountability for misusing Scripture in your attempted rebukes and failed attempt to paint me as someone inorganically profiting off this platform. You sir need to reassess that Gospel presentation you heard today for Easter. You may not like my tone, but while you’ve resorted to character assassination throughout the weekend, I’ve engaged with every argument you’ve presented and no, I haven’t dodged nor deflected. Feel free to apologize in my DMs or publicly. I don’t care. But why would I want to take more time out of my days to engage with a “brother in Christ” who doesn’t provide the Bible in proper context, nor the respect and engagement I’ve provided without resorting to personal, unfounded insults and attacks? The shtick is up, Jimmy.

Since you may have missed this nearly 24 hours ago, I’ll post again here: I said “people” broadly and genuinely. Not you specifically. If that’s how you read it, I understand why it stings, and that wasn’t my intent toward you personally. I’m speaking to the culture war machines. But I’d ask you to sit with why that hit so hard. I’ve watched this entire conversation and you’ve deflected, but you still haven’t addressed the one point I’ve stated from the beginning: It is not your place to declare Kendrick Perkins as having NOT given his life to God. The scripture is clear both specifically and contextually. That’s it. That’s the whole thing. Everything else has been a fork in the road. I’m sure if you and I met at a men’s retreat or anything else, we would have had an excellent conversation despite our disagreements. We probably would have shared some laughs. So consider me a brother in Christ simply in stark contrast to how you view some areas of the scripture. And through that lens, just please give a reflection to the identity that you sre creating and what it would mean for you to hear Jesus comment on this path you’ve taken. I truly mean this sincere not dismissive though i understand it it does. You can DM me if you want to continue it or even hop on the phone to talk through. Happy Easter.

Early Christians played a foundational role in establishing dedicated institutions for the sick, poor, and dying. They were inspired by Biblical teachings. Hospitals, orphanages, universities, even our conditional republic were inspired by and founded by Christians. There’s no faith and group of people that have played a more important, positive role in caring for the sick, poor, hungry, women, and society in general, than Christianity.

Also, instead of emotionally pulling at straws and using Grok is the arbiter of truth, use some discernment. Think before you type. Pray. Use the Holy Spirit to lead you. You’re doing everything you can to turn me into something I’m not, and take the moral high ground. Again, it’s unbecoming of a professed brother in Christ.

Jimmy, stop. I have never and will never use paid bots. Everything I post is 💯% organic engagement. These slanderous, unfounded attacks need to stop. Again, it’s unbecoming of a professed brother in Christ. Stop. You’re letting emotion drive these posts instead of the Holy Spirit. You’ve called me toxic, a cancer, grifter, etc. You should repent. You’ve gone too far and no, I won’t apologize for defending myself or The Gospel I’m proud to boldly proclaim.

The notion that Koa Peat somehow hurt his draft stock with this answer shows me that so many are missing the point… Basketball is what he does. It’s not who he is. His purpose is not to hear at the end of his life “Well done good basketball player”… He desires to love God, make Him known and hear “Well done good and faithful servant”. NBA front offices want great basketball players who produce, are good brand builders, teammates, and trustworthy on and off the court. Christians are called to do everything with excellence, including playing sports, for the glory of God. He’s not saying he doesn’t want to work hard or doesn’t care about basketball. He’s simply saying that, as a Christian, loving God and spreading the Gospel is his TRUE purpose. His identity is in Christ, not basketball.

Young people are realizing that what the world offers does not provide the purpose, fulfillment, and joy that a life dedicated to Jesus Christ does. “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2

@JonnyRoot_ @willdawsonTV Paul said "I became all things to all men that some might be saved". This is literal ignorance in trying to be a preacher (or whatever this is) when the platform you're given is to play ball, not give sermons. He destroyed his career before starting it.
