Shout out to our Instructional Assistants who are literally making things work - supporting students and bridging the gap for so many of our kids. You’re amazing!

As I see more schools still in remote, SO PROUD of our teachers and their amazing work to educate our kids. Strength, resilience, flexibility, creativity - teachers can do anything.

@MatthewBWillis Crowds of people are just so unexpected in these times. Won’t even go into a restaurant - can’t imagine that scene! As for the suspension - what a joke. Who set up that return and deemed it “good” for the community?

My district announced that we will be all online for the first semester. Students, teachers, school staff and employees won't needlessly die. One death can shatter a school community, and I am so thankful we can avoid that. All districts can, if they make the right decision.

Clarke Families-Please send in your student’s updated immunizations. New this year - Meningitis required for 7th graders.

I want to be especially mindful of this going in to the school year and with distance learning as a factor. Tasks will need to be discrete, structure clear. Will try to model and narrate NOT working 24/7, prioritizing mental health.

@Scienergetic Subs in general are going to be hard to find, and automatically dirty the cohort notion. Just like itinerant teachers, traveling from school to school - less than ideal.

@WCVB The phased approach is an interesting one - I appreciate the notion of a progressive exposure to new environment and protocols. The typical return to school can be so energetic and/or nerve racking for kids. There is some merit to the notion.

@LexEDAssoc Interesting view on the reality we are facing. So many instances where distancing is not realistic - buses, hallways, doorways and rooms that are simply too small to meet the 6’ requirements.
