From Friday (23 June) residents can collect free clear plastic bags from any Sandwell library and leisure centres run by Sandwell Leisure Trust to store recycling for when collections start again. Maximum of ten bags per person. (4/7)

14th May: superb weather to have a birthday. Tried to run 5k in 28 mins to prove I can still manage it. Spent the day in the garden, ending up drinking special champagne generously given to me and saved for this occasion. See Harald watching.

@higsonhe Oh dear, he was up to mischief! Hope he’s ok!!

ONE YEAR plus 361: woke to find that Harald had fallen off first floor banisters, trying to break his fall by scratching woodwork, and landed on the hall chest, breaking a lamp and large bowl. He seemed none the worse soon afterwards. Keep safe.

ONE YEAR plus 306: we are back to cold weather again and Harald can’t go out. So he had to accompany me as I completed health and safety and anti-bribery mandatory training for various organisations I am associated with. He was so bored he got in the wood box.
