If Andy Burnham is to be considered as a future PM he needs to take on Reform in a tough seat to prove he can win the country. It couldn’t be any other way and will be a true test of his popularity in the North West. I’m backing his candidacy all the way.

I welcome HMRC’s conclusion, which has cleared me of any wrongdoing. I have been exonerated by HMRC of the accusation that I deliberately sought to avoid tax. When purchasing a home of my own with a mortgage, I did not own any other property and had no personal financial interest in the court-instructed trust set up to manage my son’s financial award. I was advised by experts that I should pay stamp duty at the standard rate. I set out to pay the correct amount of tax. I took reasonable care and acted in good faith, based on the expert advice I received, and HMRC has accepted this. I have always sought to act with integrity, and I believe politicians should be held to high standards - that is why I resigned from government and cooperated fully with HMRC.  I wanted to ensure that I paid every penny that I owed, and have done so. I am relieved that my family can now move on - and that I can get on with my job.

My wife was targeted outside our daughter’s nursery today (handing out leaflets) & basically called a paedophile by a mum. A reform voter. She’s a Labour councillor & 5 months pregnant! This stuff is a threat to a functioning, well-governed society. It’s okay to just…disagree.

Pedestrianisation hasn’t worked everywhere, and it’s reasonable to be honest about that. It’s contributed to death of town centre in Bournemouth, and Commercial road in Portsmouth. If you don’t have high footfall creates major problems.

@jruddy99 Greens in full council said how vital Community wealth building is. We're not doing enough, they'd do more. It was pointed out Leeds is one of the few local authorities that meets the targets of the five pillars of CWB and they should do more research on the city they represent.

This is the greens all over. Promise something Labour is already delivering. Tell everyone Labour isn't doing this, then claim credit when it actually happens.
