There's an interesting dynamic to the response to reporting these days whereby anything that makes an audience feel uncomfortable or challenges a way of thinking is met with a degree of refusal / anger. Then you can stick out the most facile snippet that confirms an audience's beliefs and you're held up as Seymour Hersh. Complex stories don't work on social media - it's a wham-bam, 'I need to know how this story makes me feel but make sure you take no longer than six seconds' set-up.
