@LizardManMeyer @punishednuz All in all though, I think Finn’s plot is great as it is, the only reason people are so uncomfortable with it is is because of how much it shows the realities of war and the money that fuels it. It scrubs off the indulgence in the fantasy of it.

It’s baffling because the film’s editor made comments alluding to him being Force Sensitive. Like we even hear him sense the deaths of the trillions of people in the Hosnian System here like Obi Wan does with Alderaan in A New Hope.

@ShalkaFanNo1 I’m sure Disney played a part in making false promises to RTD and co. Like I bet they encouraged them to plan far ahead. The Streaming Wars a weird and unpredictable beast and Doctor Who, on paper, has a lot of clout on its own too.

It's still crazy to me that RTD clearly had (at the very least) a 3 season plan for the show with Susan and Poppy despite only being commissioned by Disney for 2 seasons.

@ShroudOfTuring @JboiHQ All the charm of it were very surface level, to be fair, mostly involving casting. Whitaker and Gil are delightful! It’s just an unfortunate misfire of ideas and concepts. Comparing that to the very ambitious RTD2 era feels so short sighted/bitter.

@JboiHQ Wow, this is so mean spirited. Darvill is pretty successful in his own right and two friends having a podcast for fun based on the time where they all met and became lifelong buddies (along with Smith) isn’t all that unexpected nor should be considered a step down for either.

@Darren_Mooney I do feel like Bad Wolf were a bit naive to expect a streaming service to grant them more than 2 seasons. Sure, there is the contingency that it might have been a blockbuster draw for Disney but it was still presumptuous to do so.

I am absolutely certain that “Doctor Who” fandom is not overreacting to this and is taking this news in its proper context.
The only live action Disney+ originals or co-productions to broadcast more than two seasons since launch are “High School Musical” and “The Mandalorian.”

@frombwtocolor That…that’s not how it works, so much of those assets are completely out of date and archaic now that you would have to do a full, top-down remake altogether. Not to mention the ethical ramifications of paving over other artists’ work.

I don't think people realize how culturally significant Mariah Carey is in the Philippines. She's the biggest diva here. Her biggest hits here aren't even the number 1 songs she has in the US and she is still being played in radios, public places and of course, karaokes.
