@AlmostMedia Cool cool. Which items from The Ordinary made it into the regimen?
English

@thattallguy How about global, distributed, verifiable stock options then? Mostly seeking to draw the parallel to the difference between giving stock vs giving the opportunity to buy discounted stock.
English

@josephpallant but global, distributed, verifiable etc so no, not like stock options

I’ve changed how I think about tokens. ( I think? )
TL;DR: Buying > Getting.
If you want true alignment, let your earliest supporters buy your token early (low valuation) and take them on a wealth-generation journey with you.
Airdrops and token incentives change the social contract. They're costly and tough to measure the impact of, and often reward those offering the least value and the most desire to sell (sorry airdrop hunters).
I still dream of an elegant way to perfectly match contribution to rewards, but I’m not convinced it’s possible.
Just give believers a "Buy Now button".
Sometimes the simplest answer is the right one.

@regen_network @gregory_landua Just gotta make sure Gregory gets some time in the Shire for tapping season.
English

@josephpallant @gregory_landua Is $REGEN addressing the challenges in maple harvests? Let's rethink our approach to sustainability!

As Bilbo found out, once you leave the shire, it’s pretty hard to go back.
Old Hollow Tree@OldHollowTree
People think they like the Shire because the whimsical doors and funny hobbits but they actually just crave a high trust isolationist agrarian society.

@ArchimedesCryp1 Does vibe coding yield different results depending on the ambient vibes? If so, Friday should be a good day to ship!
English

@josephpallant Haha. This wasn’t about me. I, unlike bilbo, am very happy to live in the shire. :)

How many APM do i need to stop having to write code
will depue@willdepue
i do think the future of work is like starcraft or age of empires. you have 200 microagents you’re directing to fix problems, gather information, reach out to people, design new systems, etc.

@ensdomains Happy birthday! Thanks for de facto onboarding me to Ethereum!
English

@josephpallant yes unfortunately only USA right now :( ill sort through that for the next one!!
English

We’re living through a new kind of tragedy of the commons - it’s not fisheries or farmland, but the infrastructure of society itself: social, cognitive, economic, and informational. The sell America trade, the end of American exceptionalism theses are just one part of this. And as these important commons erode, it seems like governance has become meme-driven, creating an "infrastructure of incelism" where disconnection becomes the default operating system.
Markets are responding, volatility rising, and traditional safe havens (like... Bitcoin (!!) and gold) surging as trust evaporates. So… can we trade deal our way out of this? Link in next post!

English

@kylascan Awesome stickers! Props! I think they’re only shipping to USA? Can we do a Canada drop?!
English

@maxfawcett Also worthy of note that avoiding Emissions Cap on a robust oil and gas sector has effect of forcing all non-O&G industries to subsidize growth of emissions from O&G. One can see other industries being reluctant to do so.
English

I respect Christopher Ragan. But I don't agree with this column he wrote on western alienation. A thread: 🧵readtheline.ca/p/christopher-…
English

@maxfawcett WRT Emissions Cap - A robust system of a) Emission Performance Credits that incentivize emitters to reduce more emissions than required, and b) Broad suite of carbon offset protocols - will drive emissions reductions throughout economy - achieving climate goals at lowest price.

@thejjalvarez @yestradamous @joozie75 @sethjlevy Let’s them keep exporting product hand over fist to USA and the rest of the world. Keeping their jobs in China and out of USA. Which was the stated concern these tariffs were supposed to fix.
English

@josephpallant @yestradamous @joozie75 @sethjlevy What does a weak Yuan do to the domestic markets and consumers in China?
English

@yestradamous @joozie75 @sethjlevy So that Chinese goods are cheaper for Americans. This beats the tariffs. Incidentally, lowering the Yuan is exactly what USA doesn’t want to do. Which would suggest this analysis, well laid out as it is, could not be the plan in play. I’d love to see analysis of USD short, tho…
English

@joozie75 @sethjlevy Why would they want to see it collapse??
