@nyjets76forlife @Brand_Allen Not an expert, but I read it as slightly bad. She clearly wins on abortion and state of democracy. Polls show she's 2-3% ahead on the economy. Immigration and foreign policy are where he's stronger, but that's just 15% to her 49%, and her slight edge in the 31% on economy.

@morelclicksseo @SimonWDC @KamalaHarris She’s the best in the biz. She was within 2 pts in 16 and 20. I’m not saying past performance is indicative of future success, but there isn’t a more accurate pollsters, historically speaking.

Automattic
Automattic@automattic·
Earlier this week, Automattic and @photomatt responded to a motion filed by WP Engine. This dispute is occurring because private-equity-backed WP Engine expects to continue receiving free access to Matt’s website WordPress.org while threatening the WordPress community through its actions.

@automattic @photomatt I've mostly stayed out of the drama because I've left the WordPress community professionally, but I still use it for my personal site and have many friends who still work in WordPress. You're hurting them and the community. I beg you. Please stop.

@automattic @photomatt Listen y'all. You still have time to stop this *insanity*, roll back your bans and stupid plugin changes, and apologize. WordPress can become a happy, more inclusive community again, but it can't do that with you holding the community hostage.

@JustinWolfers To bad Americans can’t feel your economic expansion motoring along at the grocery store, gas pump or with their ever increasing utilities, healthcare and daly living expense increases.

The moment I realized I am no longer a young person is when I was speaking to a group of college kids recently and telling them what the Internet was like before they were born.

@mor10 Thanks Morten. I’ve really been enjoying your commentary on the drama. I’ve been out of the community long enough this all comes as a shock.

To all WordPress and Linux users out there. Image how would react if Ubuntu (for example) blocked your servers from receiving updates and installing new packages because you never contributed back or donated to Ubuntu. If they found the IP ranges for all your servers and got it blocked. That's what WordPress (well, someone that manages wordpress[.]org) is doing against WPEngine. Clearly, you can't rely on them anymore for your sites, for updates or for your security. We need more mirrors of the WordPress code / plugins / themes so people that are blocked can access and keep their sites updated and secure. Decentralize.
Brian Gardner@bgardner

I want to share: WordPress.org has blocked @wpengine customers from updating and installing plugins and themes via WP Admin—disrupting essential work for #WordPress users, agencies, freelancers, and plugin developers. Please read: wpenginestatus.com/incidents/6401…

@mediaking @photomatt I've been following this closely since I have so many friends still working with WordPress. They're scared and considering leaving the community, or at the very least stopping their volunteer work. It's rough.

In my mid-forties, I’ve now been paying attention long enough to be able to feel the compounding effect of 2% national GDP growth. All aspects of material culture are better than when I was a kid: - Everyone has an Internet-connected computer / camera in their pocket - Medicine has improved to the point that people survive heart-attacks, cancer, etc. that used to kill them - More interesting, higher quality food (including in smaller cities & towns) - Good coffee everywhere - More reliable, more powerful cars that pollute less - Air travel safer & available even to the working class (much nicer airports, too) - Clothing cheaper & more comfortable - Incredible variety of media available on demand, wherever you are & so on Really drives home how even relatively slow growth massively compounds over decades & makes me incredibly optimistic about the future. Capitalism is amazing.

@ImSoSarah @deb_fillman @moseskagan Drop the data then. I am open to reinterpreting everything I'm seeing, but so far, you've named some things that are more expensive than they were 10 years ago, but have shown no data to back up your position. Until you do, I can see this conversation is going no where. Cheers!

@joshbroton @deb_fillman @moseskagan I am using real world data across the board. And if you think someone that is not yet a home owner and someone who bought in 2015 is even close to the same experience you need better education on reading stats

@ImSoSarah @deb_fillman @moseskagan I know it's hard to believe at times, but we are significantly better off in America vs almost any time in history. "Real wages" is the measure of purchasing power. This measure INCLUDES housing, healthcare, and every other element of the measure of inflation.
