@brofromanother I am so confused. Did you also see one of the later showings? Maybe I was just very tired, but it felt like a huge miss. The comedy was so broad and the murder plots just dragged on.

The only fall movie that makes me feel totally out of step with critics I like - and doubting my own lying eyes - is NO OTHER CHOICE. I might just be wrong on this one, I guess

@mavericksmovies It was one of the best things I saw at TIFF that year. Netflix dropping the bag with a stingy release is a mystery Benoit Blanc couldn't solve.

Glass Onion is one of those movies that it’s always surprising to see just how positive the reviews were at the time relative to how people discuss it just a few years later. Some of the wake up dead man reviews talking about this one like it’s a comeback after a reviled flop

Saturday Night Potential to Crack the Category: • The Substance – Could have a real chance if it performs well at the box office • Here – Had strong buzz awhile back, potentially being underestimated. • A Complete Unknown – A wildcard. • Nosferatu – An even bigger question mark • Sing Sing – Still might have a shot beyond just acting recognition

Sure, but Nickel Boys is also gunning on overwhelming passion from critics. It’s also opening New York Film Festival at the end month as well. Playing all the right moves IMO for such an audacious film. Plus the subject matter in the end is very awards friendly. Should nab categories like cinematography and editing. Wouldn’t be surprised if it wins NYFCC too
