Fact 2 - A final removal order requires the individual to depart; failure to do so constitutes a violation of U.S. immigration law, regardless of separate work authorization Fact 3 - Work permits can coexist with removal proceedings and do not cancel a final deportation order or legalize unlawful presence.

The man ICE shot and killed today had a Social Security number and a valid work permit. He was LEGALLY in the United States.
