Devastation, heartbreak, sadness, disappointment... just a few of the emotions right now as we think about the class of 2020 and the work they’ve put in. 💔😿

Most people today know who Jimmy Garoppolo is, he’s the starting quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers. But did you know in college as a junior he played a game in Brookings - a game in which his Eastern Illinois team got completely destroyed? sdpb.org/blogs/sports-a…

Once you’ve recruited a muscle fiber, it is easier for it then turn “on” again (Sterling’s Law of Recruitment). That is why max strength training is so valuable. Example: Sprinters - it helps recruit maximal fast-twitch motor units that translate to sprinting.

Nobody owes you anything. You aren't special. You get what you work for. Work harder.

Athletes, You are about to ask a LOT from your body! Parents please help! For TOP Athletic Performance: 1. Make sure you eat breakfast AND at lunch everyday! 2. Make sure you get 8-10 hours of uninterrupted sleep each night. (Turn off that game and phone) 3. HYDRATE ALL DAY!

"Coach, I can't gain weight." There's 768 g protein in this pic. It cost $9.90. (Get the red lid. It's whole milk)

An easy way to spot a veteran during football camp.... Hydrate and take care of your body! You can control if you are physically ready to perform. Generally the older players understand hydration! Aim for 1oz of water per pound of body weight..... weigh 240lbs= drink 240oz.

Players: It's pretty simple. You either want to get better or you don't. Your actions reflect your commitment & you can’t fake it. Do you put your time & effort toward improvement & gain? Or do you use it making excuses & putting things off? Either way, it’ll show on the court!
