In addition, @SamuelRonfard is currently recruiting a post-doc (based at the University of Toronto) to work on the same project; contact him if you're interested! (Also in collaboration with @AndreiCimpian, @JudithDanovitch, @JamieJirout, @CandiceMMills, & @AzzurraRuggeri!)

I have a 15-month post-bac project coordinator position opening in my lab at F&M this summer, to work on a project measuring the development of intellectual humility. Please share with current seniors and recent college grads and encourage them to apply! bit.ly/3uijXu1

@law_fiore Yes, this would be a great addition––thank you, Kyle!!

@joshrottman This course looks amazing! I’m linking to a cool article that could fit somewhere: cell.com/trends/cogniti…

@mgreinecke Ooh, these look great––thank you, Gracie! I'm also considering this one: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.11… :)

@joshrottman This is fantastic, Josh! Here are a couple papers that could be nice additions (especially for that last week): pnas.org/doi/full/10.10…, arxiv.org/abs/2312.17479, hal.science/hal-04330675/d….

@sciam @JeremyGinges @tage_rai @LindaSkitka Also, I owe a major debt of gratitude to @The_Line_Edit for invaluable insights and encouragement for writing and submitting op-eds, even if it's taken me two years to finally take the plunge.

As we watch horror unfold in the Middle East, it’s easy to become morally outraged. Yet, moral righteousness may obstruct a road toward peace. I explain why in this op-ed at @sciam, inspired by @JeremyGinges, @tage_rai, @LindaSkitka, and many others.

I'm excited to share some new research (with @efosterhanson and former undergrad Sam Bellersen) showing that morality opposes magnanimity; the quest for good cooperative partners leads people to expect moral perfection in others: psychologytoday.com/us/blog/moral-…

How do our values shape our moral character judgments? New research finds that we're quickest to judge others as losing membership in the moral categories we care about most 📢New from: @joshrottman, @efosterhanson, & Sam Bellersen sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

@levels_of @TamarKushnir Ha, that's incredible! I was convinced I'd discovered a funny British thing :) These individually-wrapped non-mini ones are so unwieldy; I have no idea how a regular human is supposed to eat them.

It's so nice to be resuming in-person talks again; it was great having the opportunity to host @chazfirestone yesterday for a terrific presentation to our Program in Scientific and Philosophical Studies of Mind!

@SSyropoulos @FandMCollege @LianeLeeYoung (Of course, I'm also in awe of my many other lab alumni from @FandMCollege, both those who are also currently pursuing Ph.D.s in psychological science––including Anastasiia Grigoreva, @JosieBenitez_, and @TMFlanagan1––and everybody else who is pursuing other fantastic careers!)
English

Feeling very proud of @SSyropoulos, one of the first students to join my undergrad lab at @FandMCollege, who will soon be going to work as a post-doc with @LianeLeeYoung, one of my primary mentors as a grad student. Such an exciting full circle :-)

@mljanderson @paulbloomatyale @UofT Here's my most recent iteration, @paulbloomatyale. Many of the readings will seem familiar, since you authored quite a lot of what I typically assign :) I'd also love to see your syllabus when you've finished it!

Morality peeps! This coming academic year (my first at @UofT Psych), I will teach a new seminar in moral psychology, first for grad students, then for undergrads. Looking for ideas for readings -- does anyone have a syllabus that they're willing to share? Thanks.
English

@MicahGoldwater @drCharlie_C @SSyropoulos But the paper is so much longer! :) We had a mind attribution task with neutral/positive capacities (imagination, perseverance, etc.) as well as @NourKteily's blatant dehumanization measure; both were predictive of valuing nature over outgroups.
English

@joshrottman @drCharlie_C @SSyropoulos & I suppose I could read the paper; not just the blog post :) but... did you measure both positive and negative human/non-human trait attribution? given the work suggesting "dehumanization" is really just the attribution of negative traits often associated with non-humans.
English

Are you a tree-hugger or a human-lover? I'm extremely excited about a new paper exploring variations in ascriptions of moral worth, written with @drCharlie_C and @SSyropoulos –– so excited, in fact, that I'm finally making my inaugural tweet!
