My friend Jeremy’s birthday last night. He brought out some Italian stallions 🇮🇹 to pair with lamb ragú, tortellini tartufo, branzino. The Brunello 2013 kicked ass with the lamb, while the lighter, silkier, and flat out gorgeous 1971 Barbaresco melted together with the tartufo mushroom. Piemonte ages forever!!

@SunhatsC Secret Wine Door - Erwan does a fantastic wine and cheese tasting. Not far from the Eiffel Tower. Paris-Walks has some great history tours of different neighborhoods at fair prices.

Looking forward to Paris, just over a month away. The required pre-booked tickets to the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, and Versailles bike tour have been booked. Now, to look at everything else to visit in the 6 day stay.. Suggestions?

Well, that came out of nowhere. I've got a trip to Paris booked for October.

The #Gorelli was beautifully complex with multiple spice notes. I can’t wait to see how this ages. (Same notes from when I purchased it! 😂) The #PoggioalCarro needs more time but is still beautiful. It ended up pairing very nicely with dessert - something I didn’t expect.

We did 2 side-by-side showdowns on #BrunellodiMontalcino this week - 2014 & 2020. The 2014 #Ridolfi Donna Rebecca paired beautifully with grilled meat. The CDB was less complex and offers itself up as a nice, summer Brunello. The 2020s are completely different.

17 year old and 21 year old Brunello respectively. Totally different and both excellent. Acquiring old vintages should be a side quest.
