My house burned down. I lost everything. I can’t rebuild. As a 42 year old man with 2 kids, I’ve had to move into my parents’ house, and I’m getting attacked for that? This is journalism? This is why no decent people ever get into politics. This is why you only have goblins running everything. God help you if you try to make things right for your community…if you lose your entire town, “journalists” mock you for not making your kids sleep in the toxic dirt on your burned out lot. Update on 2 month old baby on Skid Row. We are working on a solution. The baby can NOT stay there. The baby was left in a tent by herself while the mother goes smoke crystal meth. The mom also leaves the baby with strangers regularly. The baby is tied up, naked in the tent.

Basically every political instinct I had when I was a lib in 2015 ended up being completely wrong.
Even in 2020, even after 4 years of being disabused of all sorts of bad ideas, all my remaining lib assumptions also ended up being totally, completely wrong.
At some point you have to accept that you were the mark, that you were wrong about everything, laugh it off, and refuse to let sunk costs keep driving you off the same cliffs.

US graduates 28,000+ medical students per year.
US offers 44,000+ residency spots per year.
Every year 1000+ US medical students don't get a residency spot. Foreign medical students take these spots plus the 16,000+ residency spots we can't fill with Americans.
