About seven years ago, I was at a kids birthday party with my daughter for one of her classmates.
I live in a posh area, and was slightly out of place (as I am not a doctor, a surgeon, a lawyer nor went to public school I mix in different circles).
After a bit I got chatting to a dad who I didn’t recognise who said that he didn’t meet many parents as he was separated from his daughter’s mum.
Nice guy. Chatted for a bit about not much of anything.
A week later, I bump into a doctor who was there and she said “you got on well with Tom- I think everyone else was too shy to say much to him”.
