I should clarify that it is a disaster per its stated purpose. The premine's real purpose, enriching insiders, is indeed a success.

Arguably the only thing more economically important than broken money, is broken energy. A lot of the global development over the past century is commonly attributed to modern money systems, but I think the majority of it is traced back to more and more energy per capita.
