Inspired by the man who built a personalized cancer vaccine for his dog, I’ve written an open-source guide to producing mRNA vaccines: philfung.github.io/openvaxx/ Drawing on my previous life running a lab startup, the guide covers the entire process - from sequencing samples to synthesizing RNA, using open-source software and benchtop lab equipment. My goal is to spark interest in others to find treatments. Note: This is for educational purposes only and is not intended for medical use.

Tesla's Terafab chip manufacturing project launches tomorrow. Elon previously on advanced chip supply: "Even when we look at the best case output of all our key suppliers, it's not enough. In order to remove the probable constraint in 3-4 years, we'll have to build a very big fab, domestically. I know fabs are hard, but we do a lot of hard things." (Tesla's AI5 chip pictured below)

@SawyerMerritt I hope they can stick it out, I love Honda. Wish they’d blown a billion making a high rpm, naturally aspirated, rwd sports car like an s2000 replacement, rather than $16b on failed attempts at ev’s. It’s even more sad considering they’ve been the pioneer in economical vehicles

NEWS: Honda is reportedly cancelling the Prologue EV in the US at the end of this year, just two years after it was introduced. This means that starting in January 2027, Honda will no longer have any new EVs for sale in its lineup in America. Through Jan-Feb 2026, Honda has sold just 1,731 Prologues, down 75% from the same period last year. Prologue pricing & EPA range: • EX: $47,400, 308 miles • EX AWD: $50,400, 294 miles • Touring: $51,700, 308 miles • Touring AWD: $55,155, 294 miles • Elite: $58,355, 283 miles Last week, Honda announced it expects to report its first annual loss in nearly 70 years as a public company in the fiscal year ending March 2026, after recording a $15.7 billion write-down tied to its EV business. Honda said: “The situation changed far more rapidly than we expected. The suspension of EV subsidies in North America undercut growth, and competition in China meant we couldn’t provide attractive models or maintain our competitive edge.”

BREAKING: Japan Approves World’s First iPSC Stem Cell Therapy for Parkinson’s Disease. This is not a drill. This is history. Japan’s Health Ministry has officially approved two iPS cell therapies: Amchepry for Parkinson’s and ReHeart for severe heart failure. Based on Nobel Prize-winning research, these treatments use reprogrammed stem cells to regenerate damaged dopamine neurons in the brain. Seven patients were treated. Four showed significant improvement. No major side effects. Available to patients by summer 2026. 10 million people worldwide have Parkinson’s. The cure is no longer theoretical.

@RivianTrackr Unless you need the off-road prowess, or just like the looks of the Rivian better (which I kinda do, even in person the gravity looks mini van esque) either way is an awesome, American made vehicle.

@greggertruck Tesla playing price games is why they have catastrophic depreciation… among other reasons of course.

@brandenflasch Like all teslas, the value in the vehicle is only refined if you love driving it. It’s scary how badly they depreciate due to their rapid price fluctuations to rapidly change prices to move inventory

It's downright impressive how much Tesla has eroded trust with all the communications (or lack thereof) and changes with the $59k Cybertruck. What a cluster.

@WickyDubs2 I mean he already gutted NOAA, cut funding to the research, and almost destroyed the weather balloon program. The GFS has been a step behind the Euro for awhile, but with the recent changes, our models have become a laughing stock. This is just shooting a dead horse.

I’m surprised no storm chasers or meteorologists in this community are taking about how a huge nail to our community is occurring. The Trump Admin is going forward removing the supercomputer at NCAR. This supercomputer is where we develop research for weather models, physics cores, climate dynamics, MPAS, ensembles, WRF and improving the current models we use daily. Taking this away would deprecate the meteorological community significantly.

@EdKrassen If they do a recount and “find the election was rigged” (aka fabricate evidence) , it could lead to arrests and public trails to allow him to actually steamroll the next election by claiming fraud in the previous one.

BREAKING: Senator Mark Warner reports that the FBI raid in Fulton County has some suddenly suspicious things going on. The FBI head of the field office in Atlanta has suddenly quit or been fired, likely because he didn't think this search warrant was warranted. The US attorney who signed on the search warrant is also from Missouri, not Georgia, which is extremely odd. Meanwhile, Tulsi Gabbard was there, and she's been taking apart the intel community that was in charge of looking at voter interference. Trump is trying to rig the election!

@100AcresRanch The pecron 3600 is a pretty badass all in one backup to generator/inverter failure. 2400watts of dual mppt input, 3.6kwh lifp04, and they’re stackable, for only $1000 or so.

Cold soaked my Cybertruck last night in ~20 degree weather and 40% SoC. Plugged it into my Level 2 this morning. Took 26 minutes for the truck to begin charging. In the meantime, needed to warm the battery using its own battery power and only 20A from the charger. I'm not sure how this works: 1. At a Supercharger 2. On a Level 1 cable or 3. In below-zero temps. If I cold soaked my truck, would it never charge on Level 1?

Am I the only one who thinks this is an absolutely terrible idea? -Subscription fatigue is real. -FSD subscriptions can’t be financed. Now you make two monthly payments. -HW3 owners will need to pay out of pocket for the retrofit. -FSD license Transfer will be dead. -Future autonomous vehicles will require ongoing payments regardless of ownership. (i.e. I buy a car without a steering wheel but it won’t work unless I keep paying?!) -Subscriptions are easy to churn for temporary, seasonal, or cyclical time periods. Essentially: “Pay forever or your car shuts off”.
Elon Musk@elonmusk

Tesla will stop selling FSD after Feb 14. FSD will only be available as a monthly subscription thereafter.
