Last night, I gave a Bitcoin talk to a crypto club, half expecting wailing & gnashing of teeth whenever I eviscerated crypto narratives. But even before the speech, I was pleasantly surprised how much those I spoke to already agreed with me and how receptive they were to Bitcoin.

@El_FreedomFairy @BitcoinconfIRL @emirates Ha ha. Yep. It was my bed for 14 hours. I was put on a full flight after Emirates changed the schedule, but I could choose from a number of alternative flight combos after I phoned them. So I chose this almost empty flight and got a free transit hotel in Dubai! Best flight ever!

On my way to the ancestral homeland for the first time and @BitcoinconfIRL, at which I am honoured to be MCing the afternoon sessions on Saturday and Sunday. I just found out that @emirates has free Starlink internet on their flights now too!

Yes Jane, because you haven't grown up. All children are lefties because the home is the one place where socialism works. "From each according to their abilities, to each according to their need" is literally how healthy families function. A child is not able to pull their weight, so adults do it for them. But the deal in a family is this: I'm going to do this for you today, tomorrow you're doing to do this for yourself, and after that you're going to do it for the next generation. It's ok for a child to be dependent, even a 'But that's not fair' Marxist...Children are obsessed with 'fairness', with the equal distribution... But it's not ok for a healthy adult to STAY dependent, to stay obsessed with the distribution. Being an adult means saddling up and becoming focussed on the PRODUCTION of wealth, pulling your weight, creating more than you consume, in fact creating enough not only for your own consumption but for that of your dependent children also. You broke the deal. You stayed a lefty, a parasite, you want to take the effort and productivity of others and distribute it according to your version of equity and fairness rather than doing the work to create more and make the world a better place, and that makes you a parasite. You haven't grown up yet. You think it's 'self serving' that some people want to keep the product of their own labour? Then what is it to think you have the right to STEAL the product of other people's labour? Tyranny wearing a mask of virtue is what it is.
Jane Caro@JaneCaro

Don’t be daft. The older I get the more self serving I realise the right is.

@AlboMP Don't listen @AlpoMP to the vocal 'minority' of wealthy investor types online - the workers you are helping are busy working at their jobs so they have no time to get online as much as the wealthy who sitting at home with nothing to do but avoid tax.

We're bringing the dream of home ownership back in reach for young Australians. And it's why we're changing property investor tax breaks to give first home buyers a fair go.

@toobahlou @ellymelly You, I and many others have been replying to her posts for years offering to help her understand Bitcoin, which she admits in her otherwise good article to knowing nothing about. She's not interested, sadly. Her niche seems to be COMPLAINING about problems. Bitcoin is a SOLUTION.

@ellymelly Thanks for the article Alex I’ll again offer you a VIP ticket to the next Bitcoin Alive conference if you ever want to connect with the right people in the Australian Bitcoin audience to learn, if you don’t… that’s perfectly fine too.

Labor created an 'intergenerational fairness' Budget to win back the youth. They thought taxing capital and punishing wealth creation would appeal to the 'eat the rich' sentiment of the youth. And boy were they wrong. The Treasurer either forgot or did not know that so many of these young people already found a way to get ahead in an economic climate that hates them. And Labor just taxed the heck out of it. Article | spectator.com.au/2026/05/bitcoi…

@JP_Technology And at a 50% "discount" it only compensates for approx 6 years of broad money supply growth anyway (at 7%). If they inflate harder, this window shrinks even more. Past that window? The CGT discount doesn't even do the one job it's supposed to do.

The CGT discount wasn't merely to offset the reduction in real gains due to inflation over the holding period. It also offset the fact that gains accrued over MANY YEARS get taxed as though they were earned in a SINGLE YEAR, pushing most of it into the highest marginal bracket.

@JP_Technology @Conza Ordinals and runes still make up a huge portion of the transactions made today. That's not going to stop no matter what the fee regime is. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

@pounce_capital Any income is taxed separately already. Whether somebody else's asset is "productive" or not doesn't give you or the state any right to take it. Please stop advocating for theft and create your own wealth instead. Life isn't a zero sum game.

@JP_Technology if the income produced by your asset cant even keep up with inflation then wouldn't it be better for it to be owned by someone who can make it productive? hoarding isn't good for anyone

@OCM_529 @Conza It only "aligned" because it was a bull market and ALL activity was pumping. Alignment = correlation ≠ causation. It was a stupid fad that is dying its natural free-market death and no "high fee regime" is going to save it. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I think you're misunderstanding something, because the mechanism as described perfectly aligns with increased demand in a high fee regime. It doesn't cost anything extra to buy and sell an inscription, thus the increased demand from users on existing projects will attract new projects to inscribe at higher fee rates.

@OCM_529 @Conza Delusional nonsense theory. You are now saying that the causal relationship is the opposite of what you first said, assuming there even is one. The reality is that the more it costs to put this garbage on Bitcoin, the less likely "new users" are to do so. It's simple economics.

@JP_Technology @Conza I was, actually. The mechanism works like this. New users move their Bitcoin on-chain and want to find things to do with it. New users discover Ordinals, and the high fee regime accelerates.
