@CNBC and Sorkin are the ones who looked like buffoons. Probably why he didn't even humor them. I never thought they were very bright, but now can see they are fucking idiots.

@JoshYoung Why is everyone dunking on him? Its a half cash half stock deal. The stock half comes in newly issued GME shares to Ebay shareholders. This is Finance 101. 169 comments on this post dunking on Cohen when Sorkin is fully wrong. GME's market cap isnt even part of the math loool

GameStop has ~$9B in cash (as of late March). For the activist stake-building approach described in the thread—not a full buyout—they can deploy existing cash to buy eBay shares without issuing new ones or diluting holders.
A complete acquisition of a ~$46B company would likely require stock, debt, or a mix, potentially pressuring the price short-term. But that's not what's outlined here. Market reaction would depend on details and sentiment. Not financial advice.

AI labs can't stop leapfrogging each other.
Today's hottest company could be eclipsed by summer and the laggard could revolutionize the world.
As AI changes everything, keeping up with who's dominant and who's falling behind is becoming an existential question for investors, big businesses and regular users trying to guarantee their own futures.

@jyoti_mann1 Where does that place Grok? I'd say orders of magnitude higher.

@judgeglock The greatest irony of all is the name itself: artificial intelligence. That should have ended the story right there.

Ironically, the thing that could create a permanent underclass is passing a massive UBI and welfare plan based on the belief that AI will create a permanent underclass.

AI isn’t going to create a permanent underclass though

There exists a sort of loose set of “Internet Rules”. Below ive listed some… are there others you’d add?
• Streisand Effect: Trying to remove/hide/censor something online brings more attention to it.
• Godwin’s Law: As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a Nazi/Hitler comparison approaches 1.
• Poe’s Law: Without clear satire indicators, it’s impossible to distinguish extreme parody from sincere extremism.
• Skitt’s Law: Any post correcting an error will contain at least one error itself.
• Danth’s Law: If you have to declare you’ve won an argument, you’ve probably lost.
• Rule 20: Nothing is to be taken seriously.
• Muphry’s Law: Any post pointing out a spelling/grammar error will contain one itself.
• Law of Exclamation: The more exclamation points in a message, the more likely it’s wrong or unhinged.
What laws would you add?
