This is the Bajaj Qute EV. It'll be India's most affordable electric passenger four wheeler with a price tag of about 3-3.5 lakh. This is the production version of the Qute EV. The dashboard mounted gear shifter (present on ICE petrol and CNG trims) has made way for a rotary knob. The cluster indicates a SoC display. There's cruise control, too. The four seat, four door layout is retained, and so is the roof mounted air conditioning unit. The Qute EV is getting launch-ready, and dealer sources tell us that the vehicle is currently undergoing homologation in the run up to launch. The Qute EV is a very smart move from Bajaj. There's literally no competition for it presently. With NCR pushing cabs to go electric, the Qute EV is poised to do very well - as a safer, more weather-proof alternative to the autorickshaws - electric or otherwise.
